Battlefield 2 v1.03 Notes

For the few of you eager for the Battlefield 2 v1.03 patch (Ok, everyone...) it looks like a lot of the rumored patch plans are indeed true. A community manager over at EAUK has posted some patch details along with word that the patch is not yet into final testing.. so dont go expecting it this weekend or anything. Here are some of the biggies: (Thanks Omning)

Wake Island 2007
That's right, the 1.03 update bundles the first Official map release from EA and DICE. In this case the map is a modern-era update of one of the most popular maps from Battlefield 1942 -- Wake Island.
New Features

Fixes
- Server Favorites and History
- Nickname Prefix - Add and change your clan tag to your account name at will.
- Supply Drop Icons - Supply drops now appear on the main map and within the 3D Map.
- Points for Destroying Command Objects
- Server Reserved Slots - Server Operators can now set aside slots for their admins to join a full server at any time
- Vehicle Passengers - the names of players in a vehicle with you are now displayed when you enter or change seats
- Countermeasures - a reload bar has been added for vehicle countermeasures.

Tweaks
- Point Farming changes - DICE has implemented functionality that makes it significantly harder to point farm on Ranked Servers
- Mod Support - Mods now work properly with the Dedicated Server!
- Map tweaks - Spawn menu map and Commander maps now scale based on the size of the level
- Commander scoring - No more TKs from Artillery
- Vehicle tweaks - No more accidental kills from bumping a friend with your tank
- Auto Team Balance tweaks - Commanders and Squad Leaders now immune to team switch
- Anti-Air Missiles - These are now much more effective against fast-movers

      I liked it but that was in 42 which is another game. It remains to be seen if the map plays well withing the bf2 framework.

          Well, the pacing is VERY different between the two games.

          yes it was, tho i think el_alamein was the all time most played map.

          wake was too easy to end quickly.

      I was on the beta for BF1942 for abour 3 or 4 months. I've had enough Wake Island to last me a lifetime and then some. I'd rather see a Desert Combat map ported over; say, Battle of 73 Eastings or whatever that map was that was the small village by the lake (US on the far side of the lake, Iraqis in control of the village).
