I\'m a Quake fanboy, if you will (I hate UT).
But I\'m an even bigger RedStorm fanboy: Rainbow6 rocked, the expansion Eagle Watch was awesome, and RogueSpear just plain 0wns. The add-on Urban Operations I\'m sure will rock as well, and I plan on buying it.

Now stop all the damn Q3A vs UT shit in this thread. (Do as I say, not as I type) ;-)

That was a parody post in response to someone elses rant. But even if you take is seriously its the opinion of someone who has played both games and found the graphics and netcode in one game to be better than the other. Nothing fanboyish about it.

From what i understand, fanboys will only like one game. I dare you to find ONE, just ONE Shack reader who only plays ONE game. You won\'t find anyone. There are a lot of people who like UT more than Q3 or vice versa and will think that the other \"SUCKS ASS\", but there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. There is no fanboyishness (heh) about it. When they say something like that, its means that they like ONE game better than the other, not that they play ONE game in the entire universe and refuse to try anything else. I see a LOT of idiots automatically assuming thats the case when they see someone bashing their favorite game.

How come anyone who likes Quake 3 Arena over another game is automatically labeled a fanboy by one person or another?

I like UT, but Quake 3 Arena gives me more of what I want than UT: Pure FFA mayhem with some bots and good levels.

Wolf 3D and Doom were OK, Quake 1 rox0red, Quake 2 sucked, and I like Quake 3. All the expansion packs were lame.

Rogue Spear is a great game ... and very frustrating to attempt with a Quake background. After you play for a few nights, though .. nothing can compare IMHO. (Although I have often wished for a rocket launcher when assaulting a bunker!)

Don\'t flame .. I think Rogue is a great \'realistic\' game and Quake is a great \'arcade\' game. Anybody that tries to compare these two is a moron.
