Thanks to all the Shackers who met up tonight for dinner in DC! Had a great time meeting all of you! I also enjoyed my FOUR hamburgers... mmm tasty.
Special thanks to Shugamom and John for the ride downtown, and KaniX for the ride back! Of course big thanks to Mad Brahmin Disease for getting the ball rolling, perfect timing for an otherwise boring business trip evening!
I was planning to post a few pics tonight, but apparently I left my camera's card reader at home :( Hopefully will post pics tomorrow or Friday, depending on how I'm feeling after spending most of tomorrow evening on various planes to get home.
Thanks again everyone, was a great first Shackmeet for me!

Folder Size Explorer Extension
Folder Size Explorer Extension adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder.

we need a nyc shackmeet. cause like... if bumblefuck usa has one and we don't we suck
-^-SeaWolf-^
So, since no one else wants to, I've taken the plunge and gotten the ball rolling for a NYC Shackmeet. I honestly have no idea what to do, but this is why I'm starting this thread, to get feedback from you!
Although Aethyr has suggested the following: ( http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=10698303 )
Lazer Park - http://lazerpark.com/ - seems like a cool place, and so far is the forerunner. The only problem is, it might be a little too expensive, as I know alot of you aren't all up to Donald Trump status (yet)
http://www.gametimenation.com/ - Seems pretty cool, a bunch of computers hooked up for LAN games. Although, again maybe pricey.
http://www.web2zone.com/ - same deal.
bars! - I haven't been 21 for long, so I have no idea where some good bars are. Again, I need your feedback and suggestions. Cons: No shackmeet for under 21 shackers(though I think they're in the minority and wouldn't even attend anyways. if you are under 21, speak up!) and price. (Notice a pattern here? although it is NYC, it should expected)
Anyways I think we should follow the standard Shackmeet formula of dinner ---> <insert activity here>. Where are we going to have dinner? I have no idea that's why I need help from the NYC shackers again!
Also, I think Saturday is best day because A) People don't have to figure out how to meet up after work and B) BSG is on on Friday nights!. The date listed on the Shackmeet page is tentative, but I think a month warning in advance is enough.
But seriously people, IDEAS?!!?

I took a close look at my screen, it's loaded with tiny scratches. I only have a couple "deep" scratches, but is there anything I can do to clean up my screen? Do screen protectors work?
Is it true that if you send in a scratched up DS to Nintendo, presenting proof of purchase and all, they send you a new unit?

In the demo we checked out, the characters and environments looked just like they did at E3, but other minor details were improved, such as the nice dramatic motion blur effect when you turn quickly and the polished look of the line that shows up when you aim to throw a grenade (which now looks futuristic). The framerate appears to be improved on the E3 version as well, and though it's still not 100% perfect in all areas -- the game doesn't come out until 2006, after all -- it's clearly well within reach and we don't see the occasional hiccups showing up in the final version at all.
According to Epic's Cliff Bleszinski, the game [Gears of War] as it is running right now is only using one of the Xbox 360's three cores, and has been up and running on the final development kits for only about two weeks. The game had been running on Beta development kits for only a few weeks before that, so it's clear that the team at Epic is only getting started in terms of finding out how much power they can get out of the system.

n what seems destined to become one of the most yakked about photos of the month, if not year, a Reuters photographer today seems to have captured President George W. Bush scribbling a note to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during a session at the United Nations. On the note is a message revolving around the need to take a "bathroom break."

But too bad I made it myself!
Seriously though, here's some tunes I've uploaded for you guys to check out. Be kind to my friend who is hosting the files and try not to rape his bandwidth too bad.
The style/genre of music is (surprise!) electronic - think "IDM" or melodic grooves
