City of Villains Collector's Edition Announced

NCSoft sends along a press release announcing a Collector's Edition release of City of Villains. The $79.99 Collector's Edition includes the game on DVD, seven limited-edition HeroClix figures, a map of The Rogue Isles, an art book and more. City of Villains is a stand-alone expansion to the MMORPG City of Heroes, and ships this fall.

    Is it me, or do "stand-alone" and "expansion" NOT mix? It's a friggin oxymoron peoples.

      well..as i understand it you can play the game on its own, but if you have city of heroes installed its content gets added to that game.

      It's an expansion because it expands the old game with the Villains side. If you buy only this you can only play a Villain. If you got CoH as well, you can play both sides. Thus it's stand-alone. No matter which one of them you own you can play with/against (with those who are on the same side and against those on the other side, of course) everyone else who owns one of these two (or both).

      In this case, both words fit IMO.
