City of Villains Collector's Edition Announced

NCSoft sends along a press release announcing a Collector's Edition release of City of Villains. The $79.99 Collector's Edition includes the game on DVD, seven limited-edition HeroClix figures, a map of The Rogue Isles, an art book and more. City of Villains is a stand-alone expansion to the MMORPG City of Heroes, and ships this fall.

standalone expansion might be right, but for MMOs standalone means another 15$/months so that's a pretty hefty price tag if you wanna use CoV AND CoH. They didn't tell how they wanna price it for owners of both yet, did they?

If I buy City of Villains, I can play with people who have City of Heroes but only on pre-designated servers or zones, right? And vice versa?

I have high hopes for this game, though I expect it to be mediocre at best. If they can do PvP right then I suspect the game will be pretty big, but one doesn't have to look far to see how massively CoH PvP failed. I thought the PvP in CoH was a ton of fun, even with it's balance issues and all but in the end I think no one plays CoH PvP because there is absolutely no point to it...the victor gains nothing and the loser looses nothing. Hopefully CoV will change that somewhat.
