I know it's just a preview, but it would be nice if they tried to pass a little judgment on the game. This is basically a book report.

I'd like to know if the villager AI is fixed so that they aren't such whiny bitches. They say that teaching the pet is easier, but that's just barely touching the surface. Teaching them in the first was easy too, but it was just as easy to teach them the wrong thing and suddenly it's shitting all over town or eating villagers.

It was rather rewarding though to chain up your creature, cast rain on a field, and then reward him when he did it himself, and discover that he would now prance around town casting rain. And then of course he just casts it on anything, not just on a field. And then he eats a villager and shits on his house.

What I'm personally scared about is the way they talk about the interface being more streamlined than in the first one. For fuck's sake, I have a fucking keyboard, give me some fucking shortcuts! I hated that goddamn hand interface in the first one. Trying to play an entire game with nothing but the mouse might work for something like Myst or an adventure game, but if you're making a strategy game, I expect ten different elements to my HUD and so many goddamn keyboard shortcuts that you have to unfold the shortcut card (which is separate from the manual, naturally) to read them all.

Molyneux, we are not five years old. We've been using keyboards all our lives. Many of us can type without looking at the goddamn thing. We don't mind a little complexity in our games. If you're gonna make a GameCube game, then make it for the GameCube.
