Unlike other historic RTS games the action seems to happen more quickly, which is nice, but not knowing the controls (especially shortcuts) makes it a little frustrating.
Also, when you have units selected and move the cursor over an enemy and right click (which normally Moves the unit) instead of ordering it to Attack like in every other RTS game it simply orders your unit to Move there. So I routinely sent tanks on accidental suicide runs. :[
I've also had a squad of Katyusha rocket trucks trundle out and get pwned by some soldiers instead of firing a barrage at them from behind the safety of my front line. =P
Maybe giving it more time will help... only played it 2-3 times so far. I actually won the first Russian mission (in spite of the Katyusha suicide run) as the Germans finally ran outta Panzer tanks and Vehrmacht troops to send my way or something. The ending seemed kinda arbitrary, to be honest. Almost like it had a trigger at the top of the map scripted to send x number of tanks and troops y number of times and then if Player is still alive, Mission Accomplished.
So while not exactly horrible (no crashes, no exceptionally bad experiences), erm... yeah it's pretty poor.
Does this have anything to do with the Generals mod?
