His profile ( http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?person=Harkov ) looks like it's been edited by someone (presumably his brother), listing "Adviss Daarin" as having lived from November 15th, 1983 to August 21st, 2005. Adviss was his BF2 name, but I never asked him the origin.. so it could very well be his name, and signs right now are pointing towards that. His absence was noted prior to this by me, but I assumed he was simply on vacation or something.. his last post was about the OFP Shackbattle, and after that, nada.. at a time when I really would've expected him to be his typically chatty self. =(
Somebody please let us know what the fuck is going on. Some kind of closure would be greatly appreciated. ='(

But as I play it I realize that it's not actually the gameplay that I enjoy so much, the gameplay has LOTS of resource grinding, traveling from point A to point B, the sorts of things that I generally don't like about MMOs, I realize the compelling part of the game is the story. The history of the universe, talk of the precursors, the interaction between the species, resurrecting the Shofixti, turing the races against the Ur-Quan, even the Ur-Quan's incredibly tragic history, and of course, getting to bang the Syreen Commander.
It's a shame that few games have stories on the same level as this old classic, so to turn outside of gaming, can anyone recommend and novels or heck, even well done internet fiction that has an equally compelling story? I haven't read a whole lot of sci-fi myself. Ender's Game was excellent, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. The 2 Halo novels by Eric Nylund were quite good as well, and a little closer to the mark. I have a series of novels that I have on my to read list called Stardoc, lots of potential there I think, about an inter-species surgeon plenty of races and cultures to meet and... operate on.
So, suggestions?

Got Forza recently and have been having loads of fun with it . So yesterday I decide to completely trick-out my 350z with every mod possible and the car is FAST now. Only problem is that the wheels spin every time I go near heavy acceleration and the car instantly goes to max revs on low gears.
Anyone got any good setup tips for suped up cars as I dont have the same problem with racing model versions.
Any setup tips in general (or linkage to quality setup guide) would be much apretiated.

I just finished Atlas Shrugged, and am definately in the mood for a little bit of a lighter book, but am not really sure what to get. I realize I haven't read a new techno-thriller/espionage/Clancy-esque book in a while, so something in that vein would be fun, but am really just looking for anything to put on my ebook reader for now. (I really have to take some pictures and do a nice write up on that thing, I've been accused of being a salesman for the damn thing by friends)

Friend A is leaving in one week for college about an hour away. He will be living there and will no longer be a mere 5 minutes away. And since this is taking place in Atlanta, traffic is a bitch and it would take you half the day to get there.
So, Friend B and Friend C plan to go see a movie (40 Year Old Virgin) the following Friday (Friend A is leaving Saturday) with Friend A and spend the evening hanging out to wish him good luck and say good bye and such.
On the Wednesday before the planned Friday, Friend B goes on a first date with Friend C's ex-girlfriend. Friend C doesn't really care though. Anyways, come Friday, Friend B lets it be known that he made plans with the girl on that Friday. Neither Friend A or Friend C want here to come along (without going into loads of backstory, the girl is psycho).
So both Friend A and Friend C bug Friend B on Friday afternoon to come and go on the date some other time (Friend B, C and the girl all go to the same school). Friend B ends up going on the date with the girl.
The following Monday, Friend B tells Friend C about his Friday night etc etc, and feels no remorse for ditching his friends.

So I'm helping a friend build his computer. We got it all assembled, but the motherboard power connector didn't exactly fit. From the case, it's 20 pins, but the slot on the motherboard is 24 (I think I have these numbers right, anyway there's a 2x2 empty space on the mobo). We also connected the extra 2x2 power connector. THe motherboard is an AMD 939 (CHaintech VF4). When we boot up, it says the CPU make and actual speed, but then goes no further. We get a post code of 50 (which I can't find any info on).
Any ideas? Is there a power difference between AMD and Intel, and this case just doesn't have the right connector?

The funny/ironic part is that my wallet was sitting literally 3 inches from the stereo in plain site with $140 in it. It wasn't even touched. These people are so increadibly fucking stupid, it boggles my mind. Now I'm out a stereo, again, and I have to pay $140 to fix my window. Jesus, what a way to be welcomed back to the area :(.

I have a Audigy 2 zs platinum pro, so i can go digital, but will everything (games, music, etc.) play in digital? I assuming not because I'm playing WoW atm with them through digital and it's not working right. I'm guessing that I have to have both the analog and digital hooked up, and only select games, and dvds will play in digital format and the rest I switch it to analog?
