TimeShift Movie
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 26, 2005 6:50pm PDTWe saw some screenshots from the sci-fi shooter TimeShift earlier this week, and now Atari has released a new movie from the game. The WMV format video shows nine minutes of footage from a singleplayer mission.

So the footage you see is from an unfinished level seven months prior to release, the person playing it is me, and I was talking during the gameplay while they were hooked up recording. I often choose to show a level of the game exactly where it is during development rather then building up some over hyped piece of shit level that is all smoke and mirrors and nothing else is built. We have 35 levels in all for Single player (more for multiplayer) and every one is currently at the status you see here, we have about 6 more months left to polish up each level.
The voice acting is all temp, the scripted events are not finished, the graphics are not finished, the characters are not done, and the gameplay is not polished or balanced.
So there is your answer, If you are interested in more details hang out at the Atari community forums, one day when I'm not busy finishing the game I'll go post there and read your feedback.

Pretty damn cool. And I'm not talking abouit the graphics. As I was watching the attacks I could only think to myself what would all the possiblities be with going past obvious blocked paths and redoing small sections of gameplay because you're low on health. Boggles my mind pretty good.
I litterally said holy shit when they show the character timeshifting and stealing the gun from the enemy. Sure as hell solves that low ammo problem, don't it? Hehe. :)
I dont' know, seems like my kind of gameplay where you can easily overpower the enemy by simply timeshifting and shoving 100 bullets into them before they even have a chance to shoot back. Like at all. Very neat.
Oh and are they teasing us with a Dues Ex multiple path to reaching the goal type thing? I'm dying for a decent game like that to come out again.
I only downloaded this thing trying to figuire if the graphics were as good as the screenshots and they don't dissappoint at all. That plus you get to see 9 freakin minutes of gameplay which was nice.
I only wonder if this vid was some sort of live demo for like quakecon. Really doesn't sell this game at all, so I guess that's what everyone is complaining abouit . Yeah voicework is a little iffy as well. Wtf was with seeing the voice dialoge on screen? See, I think this just was a live demo that they thought others would want to see since they already had done one for E3.
I'm going to keep my eyeball out on this one. Looks more promising than Phariah, that's for sure.

What a huge waste of ammo and time ironically. Whoever they had playing the game was a piss poor shot and boring as hell to watch.
Please tell me that the voice acting was a goof. Please. It sounds like a guy reading off a TelePrompTer, offbeat pauses and all. Not only that I suppose the main character in this game is running, or walking around in high heals. Click clop on every single surface; do we seriously need that default 'jump' sound in every single FPS that comes out? We have this jump button set up, you can jump 3 inches high, w00t.
Enough bitching already. The environment looks amazing, well that's it really.
