GameSpot Announces G.A.M.E.

11

Gaming news site GameSpot has put forth details of their upcoming "live event series for video game enthusiasts". Christened The Games and Music Experience, or G.A.M.E., the first of apparently many events will occur December 2-4 at San Francisco's Moscone Center. Unlike similar shows such as E3, G.A.M.E. will be open to the general public. Gamers will be able to try out games from a variety of publishers, such as Electronic Arts, 2K Sports and 2K Games, Activision, Capcom, Midway, Namco, and CDV Software Entertainment. Atlantic Records is also providing a lineup of bands "whose music is featured on the soundtracks of top games".

During the event, gamers will gain access to an immersive gaming playground, divided into seven differently themed gameplay areas, based on the most popular gaming genres: military, urban, sci-fi, fantasy, sports, racing, and fighting. Also featuring live music and access to game celebrities and professionals, G.A.M.E. will be a veritable gaming party, inviting the local game community to revel in all aspects of the gamer culture and lifestyle.
Does the games industry really need more events? We'll see.

Well, if DNF is there, I'll eat 10 hats. And be happy that I'm playing DNF.
