Bill Roper Likes PC Games
by Chris Remo, Aug 16, 2005 4:15pm PDTIn his Games Convention Developer Conference keynote, Flagship Studios president Bill Roper voiced his support for PC game development. The former Blizzard producer noted the widespread shift towards online gaming, claiming the shift is particularly notable on the PC. Arne Peters of Intel Germany had similar thoughts regarding the viability of the PC market:
"When it comes to playing games, there are more devices than ever before," said Intel's Germany Segment Manager, Consumer Software and Solutions, Arne Peters. "But one thing I would subscribe to is that the PC platform is very much alive. Despite all the discussions surrounding the next generation consoles, PC has always been there, and will remain... PCs are the centre of online gaming."

You know, I used to be on the side of PC gaming. But seeing as how bleeding-edge GPUs cost about as much as a next-gen console, I'm inclined to disagree.
