My god, what a horribly written article...it disgusts me how poor the writing quality on a lot of gaming sites has become as of late.

its like this...no matter what the name of id\'s next game is gonna be, it will be like quake, in some way shape or form. It will have some sort of multiplayer in it for lan games and internet, and it will have some sort of single player game for those less fortunate souls.

What the hell? He announced at QuakeCon that there is strong support at id for a Doom 2000.

I get so frustrated when you people say Quake sucks. AND for sure you are probably busy playing some mod for quake 2 or quake 3, hell maybe even quake 1. Doom and Quake/Quake 2 were meant for Single player - the multiplayer was just kind of toss in there towards the end (Actually nevermind, i\'m sure they worked a lot on Quake 2\'s) ... but Doom/Doom 2 and Quake were basically just single player game. They were trying to set new standards and they did a really good job, I still play Quake/2 single player sometimes - I prefer Quake 1 for some reason but all in all it\'s good shit. I haven\'t played Doom single player in a while, not used to having no jump/crouch/use/mouse look ... I think id should do a game like Doom but the main character is Crash and she is naked and it\'s in third person did I mention she should be naked?

Why not though? Is he worried about other single player games? All the other single player games are ABSOLUTE TRASH, id is the god of single player. I rest my case.

I make no sense in my posts, I just kept rambling wtf...anyways! :D Haha yeah there is more. Doom 2000 or Quake 4 would be their best bet, I personally think they should just keep doing shit like Quake 3 but add more options and stuff - I really want a single player game. But i\'m really digging DM with bots (Can\'t play online, my isp is fux0red with the authorize server), and that\'s almost better than single player. I used to be a strong believer in single player but now i\'m really just saying toss it and continue with this type of game, everyone likes it (except for the UT fan-boys, they are to 31337 for Quake3). As much as I hate EverQuest, after playing for 7 months and getting 2 level 50\'s (w00t) and like 30 other chars level 10-30 I think a Quake\'ish game like that would be fun. NO! NOT A RPG like EQ ... a huge massive online game would just be fucking heaven imho in the Quake universe. No fucking elves or anything, just rockets and huge ass levels. Maybe have some sort of war going on with guilds and stuff like that, duke it out in a huge abandoned warehouse type zone....*spppp00000g3*

Mods are gewd, yea...i\'ve played almost every mod for Quake 1, mods for Quake 2 kind of sucked - lots of junk, but there was a few things I enjoyed. I only play(ed) the popular mods when they first came out, I gave up on em sooner than most - IE Action Quake 2, and shit. I just hope id realizes we want Doom 2000 - with the Quake 3 engine. I got so many great ideas for first person shooters, and i\'m not just bragging - every single idea i\'ve had i\'ve pretty much kept ever since Quake came out. I can think of lots of stuff that hasn\'t been done and would be fun, but the problem is way to many engine limitations. I get like 80-120 FPS in Quake 3 and then BAM it just drags to like 12 or something when I open a door in some maps *Anti-Logic*. If they did do a doom 2000 I am wondering what engine they would use, I just beg em not to give the project to some other company. Unreal 2 is being fux0red by Legend who fux0red WoT, WoT sucked - Unreal was gewd....but theres nothing else to say. AND contrary to popular belief

I highly doubt id will focus mainly on only single player in the future. I personally thing they might go for a new game model... maybe something like multipler game, singleplayer game, multiplayer game, single player game, etc; they may also merge the two back into a single game. Much of id\'s success has been due to over-the-net multiplayer, and I\'d doubt they would change from that.

BTW, I hope skeletal animation gets into Q3 in the future, this should help speed things up when you\'re dealing with a lot of players in one scene. Anyone think this is possible?

Paintball should be fun, but I never tried it with Q2. Anyone thinking of doing a Q1 mod? That would be cool, I think ;)

Look at Q2, it\'s still going strong after two years. Q3 has more potential than any of the Quake games, and if patches do miracles, we can see even more added features.

TFC was trash I meant to say. TF rawked and q3fortress will rawk hard...I don\'t see why everyone uses jump pads in maps though. Can someone explain why every fucking map has to have a jump pad? Please? PLEASE!!! GODDAMNT, if Quake 3 fortress uses jump pads I will like *SO die*
