SiN Episodes Q&A
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 09, 2005 9:59am PDTSinEpisodes.net has a SiN: Episodes Q&A, asking the team at Ritual about their episodic shooter. Questions are about the graphics, use of physics, demo plans, playing as other characters besides Blade, the price point, retail plans, multiplayer plans and more. There's also a Magnum weapon render here.

Steve Hessel: We’re playing around with porting the first SiN to the Source engine along the lines of what Valve did with Half-Life: Source. On top of that, we’re replacing assets where it is appropriate, so the SiN grunts are replaced with the SiN Episodes grunts and you get the new weapons. Some of the gameplay is also being adjusted to work with the new tech. We don’t have a release date at this point, but we’ll probably talk more about this at a later time.

If a developer wanted to charge $20 for 5 solid hours of gameplay, but release something every 6 months, I'd be much happier with that I think.
The whole idea falls apart though if they only wind up releasing 90 minutes worth or content at a time though.
