Does the "BF2:Getting EAX4 working for All SB Live! and Audigy sound cards" guide http://www.shackbattles.com/wiki/index.php/BF2:Getting_EAX4_working_for_All_SB_Live%21_and_Audigy_sound_cards actually work? I'm assuming it enables the XFi or whatever its called and Ultra High sound settings on Audigy and lower cards? I've got an Audigy Platinum and I'm thinking of trying this but the links to the Audigy 2 software suites don't seem to work anymore. Comments?

Is the Xbox 360 coming out this year or next year? If Europe will get it by Christmas surely we will as well, since we are usually on the same time as Europe for console launches anyway.

I personally believe the same person is filtering obiwan, yoda and shatner, though I couldn't imagine why.

This really suprised me. i thought it would be a run of the mill 1st person shooter but i was wrong. the combat (at least in the demo) is like fighting the marines in farcry only fun (since farcry was boring).
the only question i have to ask is why have any other weapon in the game other than the pistol? it can headshot from a long ways off. at any range it kills guys much more quickly than the machine gun. the sniper gun could be useful too i guess but you don't need it. the only thing you need to back up your pistol are a few grenades.
i suppose if there are eventually really heavily armored bosses or something you may need a secondary gun. but as far as the demo is concerned you can kill everything in just a couple of shots with the pistol (except the shiny guy who i did shoot with the machine gun). and since the retort of the pistol is so short the enemies frequently have a hard time figuring out exactly where you are. and by they time they do figure it out 2-3 guys are dead and there's only a couple left.
i played thourgh on the second from highest difficulty and i hope the actual game is harder. otherwise it'll just be a stroll through a very atmospheric game. this demo has more atmosphere than the doom 3 demo by a long ways.

It's part of some new Burger King ad campaign, if you seen the commercials with the crazy metal band singing about their "chicken fries", they show a URL at he bottom, http://coqroq.com, which tells the story of the band... hard to say if it's legit or not, but that phone number thing is crazy cool.
It says you get 3 for free and then it's a 99 cent charge per use... i can actually imagineusing this though. I mean, how many times have you heard a song and wanted to know what it was?
I tried a few songs out on it... seems like it will most likely be able to identify anything you'd hear on the radio, but it's not going to know things like bootleg live performances or obscure german industrial bands. Still pretty awesome though.

Oh man oh man oh man. This is the main selling point for the Taito Arcade Memories Joukan as far as I'm concerned. Sure, you could pay $40-$60 for the Japanese Saturn version, but then you don't get all of the other games that come in this set (and you'd have to have an svideo cable for your saturn too :( ). This game is. the. fucking. heat.
Imagine the Elevator Action you grew up playing. Now imagine it on steroids. That's Elevator Action Returns. Beautiful 2d graphics with slick animation and effects (thanks to the Taito F3 board!) along with level designs that start off as a homage to the original and then very rapidly (in stage 2!) evolve into a whole new experience. Amazing stuff.
As with everything else on this disc, the game is emulated in MAME, so I strongly recommend checking it out as soon as fucking possible.

help the vassili build a new comp
looking for mobo suggestions. i'm set on getting an amd x2. need to know what the best motherboard out there for it is. heard they have that new m2 socket comming out, but that's like Q2 '06. have to stick to 939 for now i guess. are there ddr2 capable ones available?

Anyone remember Subspace or its sequel on Sony online games called Cosmic Rift? How about the same kind of game with updated graphics, nothing too major, but a game like that where you can play against 30 or so people? Christ, I'd never play anything else. Those games rocked and would be perfect.

I've fixed that problem for 2 movies recently (and really you only ever have 5 or so of these movies you remember only remembering half of)
One is the Dark Crystal which I wrote about approx a week ago (more awesome than you can imagine) and the other is the one I watched this weekend - which is The Proffessional. (or Leon to you US folks)
What a cool movie and you know what - I finally have respect for Natalie Portman - I never was into her much - people always raved how hot she is which I just don't see (she's always looked like a little girl up until a year ago at most and personally I don't want to do someone that looks like a little girl) but yeah she rocked in this movie. 7/10 for anyone 8/10 for movie buffs and 9/10 for fans of those specific actors / actress's etc.

What's bizzare is that I realized that she DOES look a lot like this really crazy girl who was really attracted to me (but was insane mahhhn...INSANE!)...and my mom saw her once and commented that she reminded her of Drusila but without the accent and with different hair...well in LFN she had her hair the same as this girl and looked a lot like I remember her (assuming that my memory isn't just all warped and dissassociated now). I remember posting about the crazy girl way back when...but I can't find those old posts to linke :[.

I left to do an offroad training course 150kms from my house, i have to meet up with 15 people at 8am saturday morning, so i leave my house at 5am.
So i'm riding up some twisty roads, its cold. but bareable (its winter in australia right now, and we're not used to the cold)
So i get half way there and hit a cold area, bike begins to run shithouse, i've got my heated grips on full blast and my hands are still numb. Visor was completely fogged, i was squinting to see the road.
I kept taking breaks to put my hands up against the engine, and had ice all over my jacket.

i get no sound when i start the game. i get sound only when sierra's logo intro is playing. i've downloaded the newest drivers from creative to no avail.
in the readme.txt it says,"From your main installation folder (the default is
C:\Program Files\Sierra\FEAR SP Demo), double-click on the
file named WMFADist.exe, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
This will manually install the audio codec that is required by the
game. "
this file does not exist in my directory (demo is installed to the default directory.)
any bright ideas? i'd really like to try the game out...
