EA sends along Battlefield 2 mod editing tutorials, as well as light map samples. The light map samples are required if you want to generate object shadows in your maps, and are a whopping 711mb download.

Suprisingly, the editor IS good and the tutorials ARE cool. EA said it's rough around the edges or something, but it's actually very nice and really powerful. Even though the engine itself isn't that flexible, you can do pretty much anything it supports with the editor. I'm surprised.
