Better and better?

The show is utter crap now. Its like Farscape rejects are us. Farscape died for a reason. Sci-Fi should of learned that.

Now they are forcing this stoner who could not make Colonel if he was paying to do so and expect us to take him as a serious replacement for Richard Anderson.

What a Joke. He just does not have the talent nor the ability to play the role that is given him. All he can do is hurt the series. I mean its a joke now, a comedy show. Yes there was comedy before, but there was also story, plot, drama, hell a point. Now there is just lame ass comedy. All they are doing is milking it and they know it.

The show will end at the latest one season more but I seriously doubt it will continue after this season.

Sci-Fi is very good at taking good shows and turning them to crap. The only amazing thing is that they had not done it before now. At least Atlantis is still pretty good and Galactica is actually very good. Sucks to lose such a good show, but at least there is something there to replace it.

Oh and to those disagreeing with me you are welcome too, but you cant seriously expect anyone to think that Ben Browder can play a Colonel and do it in any form of serious or intelligent fashion. The guy looks like hes constantly stoned and he acts like it as well. He just cant play a serious part. That was ok in Farscape, but it really sucks as head of SG-1. Yes Mr. Anderson had comedy but he had so much more than that. Browder does not, all he has is his silly comedy. Nothing else to contribute.

Should of been expected.

Was my last hope for SG-1. The show has went to crap since they brought on Ben The Stoner Browder. Cant think of a worse actor to lead SG-1 than they have now. So since the show is dead, I guess its only fitting that they cancel the game as well.

It really is a shame, I was very much looking forward to this game. Guess Stargate is finally dead.

I understand why Mr. Anderson made his decisions. But the least they could of done was got a worthy actor to replace him.

Blah whats the point of bitching, makes no difference anyways. The show will die and all we will have is the good memories. Yeah the ones before Sci-Fi tried milking it some more with their crappy actor choices.

I don't care what the situation is, that's a bad move on JoWood's part and it's indicitive of what's wrong with pubsliers today. Unless the developer was buying coke and hookers with your money, a developer shouldn't be responsible for it. That's the risk a publsiher takes for their rather considerable take of the profits in most cases.

It is *absolutely* the risk and responsibility of a publisher to sign up good teams that can do the work. If it doesn't work out, then too bad, and you eat it.

No developer in the world should ever sign an agreement that allows a publisher to receive their advances back if they cancel the game. Ever. No exceptions.

Am I the only one who thinks that Crytek would be ideal for this game?

I am having flashbacks to E3 5 years ago when Sierra was showing off the (then) upcoming Babylon 5 game. The demo they were showing was awesome and a few months later it was cancelled.

I played with the Stargate SG1 demo at E3 this year and what little I played seemed pretty good. Maybe they should back off the modders and let them put something out to hold us over until there is an official Stargate game.

at first i thought this was about the TV show getting cancelled and i thought, "Damn, its about time!". I used to love that show but its gone downhill and they need to let it go.

They're asking for their investment into the project back? Damn, quick someone get the vaseline. Maybe they'll find a good small company to take it over. Someone who's finishing up a current project and shopping around for a new one.

I thought the E3 video looked awful, yay. Better no SG game then a bad one.

Argh... they threaten / shut down every stargate mod that starts working, and then they cancel their own game... Honestly are they Trying to piss off their fanbase?

Oh man, I was so looking forward to this game, just because it had co-op mode. There aren't enough games that include it. The only game I can really think of that had co-op was System Shock 2. Are there any new games planned that include co-op?

Good for JoWood. At least they care about quality and are not pushing out crap just to make a quick buck from the license title.

All their games that I've played have been decent to excellent (Spellforce, Gothic 1+2).

The game looked ok to me. Perhaps the publisher will give the game to a new developer.

On the one hand, I'm really dissapointed about this, the Stargate universe would be an excellent setting for a FPS, on the other hand, some of the footage I saw come out of E3 was really not too hot.

I hope they find someone else to either pick up the work or start over. I think it has a lot of potential. But it's good to see that they care about the quality aren't going for a quick cash in.

So they bully the community making the a mod of the franchise and shut them down, then they cancel the official title. Genius, how to piss off a fan base 101.

I suppose this is better than getting some total shovelware, since I probably would've bought it and been disappointed. I'll have to console myself with the SG-1 d20 RPG action.

This should be a bummer for the developer. They worked years on it and now have to pay back all their expenses. And they won't have it easy finding a new publisher for their next project, if even JoWooD thinks they produce crap.
