I'm heading up the hospital's American Heart Association Heart Walk effort this year, and I'm wondering if it wouldn't be too much to ask to solicit a small donation to help the cause. My grandpa just passed away from congestive heart failure, so this year's got a special significance.
Here's what i propose: if you shackers were willing to paypal me a dollar, I'll match it with 2. To keep me honest, everyone who donates will get a link to my heartwalk homepage... you can watch the totals go up, and, together, the shack collective can do amazing things by leveraging the sheer numbers of us.
100 percent of the proceeds from the walk go toward education, prevention, and research to put an end to heart disease, our number one killer. Let's see if we can get something going and put an end to this crappy ailment.

I know a bunch of you have the Dell 2005FPW. What do you think of it? I really want one, the only thing I'm worried about is gaming. Do most games support widescreen? Is the refresh rate fast enough? Is there a way to play games in a normal 4:3 resolution with letterboxed sides? Any opinions are appreciated.

last sunday some friends and i were out at the bite of seattle (at seattle center), relaxing on the grass and chowing on some good food. anyway, i noticed the space needle in the background and thought it'd be a pretty sweet picture if i could fit my group of friends on the bottom of the frame and got the top of the space needle in the upper half.

If you use Nurfed unitframes, the latest beta has a fix for it, and it does indeed work. I've been to Molten Core and Blackwing Lair since installing it and the stuttering is completely gone.

when I buy stuff on iTunes it says to make a backup in case i lose my data.
this sounds ok BUT, one time when I ran out of room on my C drive, I copied all my music to my D drive and tried to re-import it into iTunes and it could no longer see the track information and told me to re-import off the CDs. What's the smart way to backup all the music I buy?
An innocent little asian girl (don't be sicko - she was probably about 12) got royally chewed out by an adult woman for tying up the dog outside to enter and order a beverage.
The little girl had a little dog and tied it up for about 0.00003 seconds, at which point it started the high pitched whine/yap. No real harm to the dog at this point, but there is a lot of noise... and the woman just came straight at the kid inside Starbucks (apparently having heard the yaps) and started off with "excuse me, you cannot do that. please release your dog and take it home right away." Now I'm not the biggest dog fan (in fact, cats > dogs) but that is really over the top - the little girl seemed to be ready to break down in tears in front of everyone. The patrons, including myself, were basically dumbfounded and speechless at this pointless showing of "I am more politically correct than you, hear me roar!!!"
the little girl, about 4 behind me in line, didn't even reply and just walked out with nothing. no one moved a muscle. it was surreal.

Lets you fine-tune/adjust the aspect ratio in game. San Andreas' WS option only does 16:9 by default.
Also has a configurable & moveable speedometer/tach for vehicles.
Plus it adds 10 new camera angles which can be customized and a free-look mode.

I tried to get through the Water Hazard portion of the game without using the hovercraft. Almost made it too. I got most of the way by floating carefully down the acid on a blue barrel, but got to a point where I couldn't get past one of the helicopters.
Just thought I'd share.

I just found out one of my TKD demo team kids had a lump on the back of his shoulder and it was partially removed today. The biopsy won't be back until next week, but his parents are completely distraught. I just sat in belief on the phone as his mom told me.

I have one column that has money in it that is always changing...say it goes from $9, to $19, to $28, to $18, to $27, to $17... in the colum beside it, i have an hh-mm formatted colum with 00:24, 00:57, 01:09, 01:27, 01:32, 2:17...

I joined the game and as soon as I spawn I get killed by artillery in progress. Spawn again, I kill an enemy, and then see a friendly SpecOps placing satchels near a tank. I get too close while trying to get some ammo that was near there and get blown up by his C4. Ok, my bad. I immediately forgive the TK and before the spawn timer comes up I'm fucking kicked out. I had been in the server for less than 30 seconds. A single honest mistake and that idiot has to kick me before I can even say sorry?
