Evening Reading

608
So hopefully by the end of this weekend I'll have interviewed enough guys to know who our new LNC monkey will be so we can start off Monday with the return of that stuff. Ok probably not. Thanks to our buddy Jason as always for the help with the interview questions. It's like lots of questions about Japanese dudes and stuff. Crazy. Ok here is some stuff:

- Aimfight is hot
- Fighting smog
- Women in games
- Online Jeopardy
- Windows Vista
- FireFox 1.5 coming soon

Lastly, net dating.. painful reality TV. Watched this show once with the lady and yeah... it's crazy.

I kinda like the name. I'm so used to hearing 'vista' though. In California, 90% of places you go to have 'calle', 'real', 'camino' or 'vista' in the name. It's just something you get used to I guess

It seems everyone always hates new names when they come out. People hated when AMD dubbed their new CPU Athlon so many years ago, followed by Athlon64, Centrino, and of course WindowsXP

In time though people just forget about the name and just equate the name with the product. If I say Athlon now people just assume AMDs fast cpu same with Athlon64. With WinXP people just equate it with the latest version of windows that actually has color and the first consumer (marketed) windows thats actually really stable as opposed to 98.

In the end it wont matter. 2-3 years from now we'll see posts "Hey guys i'm having sound card problems with my Creative X-Fi using the latest drivers on Vista with sp1, can anyone help?" and we won't even think of the names anymore we'll just automatically equate it with the latest version of windows and the new stuff it adds.

Neowin says the shortname for Windows will be Windows VI, because it's using Windows NT 6.
