If EA fights strongly against this Thompson guy, it would really boost EA's reputation with the gamers.

This is really bad news guys, it's a lot more serious than you might think. They won with GTA and they'll win with this, they are going to go on a war path that is really going to hurt the industry, they want it gone or strickly controlled. This is horrible news and it makes me sad for the future of games, and also for a government that is so afraid of nudity and sex.

The thing that kills me is that I've emailed this moralistic extremist ambulance chaser with a very lenghty and civilized defense for the industry and how we as a country have things that are much more important and urgent to deal with, and was simply told I was disturbed. It truly enrages me to see that video games are looked upon as only for children and not as an art, and when it tries to expand beyond the realm of "game" we get wingnuts like this trying to destroy the first amendment rights we're given by birth and force their rights against our wrongs...I hope EA (as much as I dislike their pratices) buries this man up to his eyes in countersuits.

The age old question. Why the hell are so many americans against nudity and sex? We allow so much violence in our media but sex is a huge issue. I say that if this starts to become an issue and a minority start restricting the rights of the majority...then our rights are being infringed. However, while I don't see this going far if it does, developers will just move to other countries, make good games there, and I'll import them.

I'd say I can't believe this is happening, but when I heard why GTA:SA was under attack I immediatly thought that The Sims 2 is going to be facing the exact same problem, even though The Sims 2 is the cleanest game that any adult plays. The stupidity of American parenting is that it's the human body that outrages people and not the violence or damaging stereotypes in games like GTA or Postal 2 that we need to protect the children from.

He's going to regret this. Electronic Arts, despite its faults, is a powerful force in our industry, and I don't think, big as they are, that they're going to bend over and let Thompson scandalize them so easily.

EA is clean. Christ, they cancelled Thrill Kill. They wouldn't let this sort of thing slip by too easily.

Plus, why would the developers even give the characters genitals anyhow, it takes so much extra time to render all the details down there only to have it censored.
