That wasnt so bad and I only managed a tiny bit of sunburn on a couple of spots where I only applied 3 coats of sunblock instead of 5 or whatever. Hopefully you've had an equally unproductive weekend! How about some of this:

Today we had a successful GreaterTorontoArea Shackmeet. I say successful because they are far and few between and anything amounting to more than two people is a success.
Our head mod Geedeck and his lovely aquaintence Angel decided to come to Canada to visit and partake in maple syrup hamburgers and cable television in our igloo hotels. I took it upon myself to arrange a Shackmeet for this momentus occasion.
On the agenda was a showing of War Of The Worlds starring our favourite scientologist Tom Cruise and pints on the patio of a local restaurant.
My wife and I showed up at the theatre around 3pm and made our way into the foyer. She asked me how am I going to find these guys. Silly question. I made my way to the arcade and looked for five guys all playing video games. My mark was found and we made preliminary introductions. We had evil-cow and Anti_dentite and jcutner (sup jcutner). Jcutner brought some banned shackers and I thought they were going to just yell Stoofoo and a random racist remark but they were pretty cool guys.
Evil-cow and I decided to play some air hockey and I thought I would scare him a little by firing the glow-in-the-dark disc at his head. Surely I would throw him off his game. Alas this was not the case as he beat me two games to one. He cheats though and lifts the paddle of the table and stops the puck with it. I’m blaming that for my losses. Not because he fired it straight into my goal 2321 times. No.
Geedeck was still not to be found. I thought it would be a nice gesture to call him to make sure he wasn’t on his way to Kingston or Sudbury. Good thing I called because he had gone past the street he was supposed to get off at. I was trying to tell him the proper directions but my cellphone is shitty and the streets in Canada all end in Eh! And not simple streets like York and Main street.
After another wrong stop Geedeck and Angel finally made it to the theatre with seconds to spare. We all cuddled together in the theatre and watched Dakota Fanning play yet another endangered child crying with her big doe eyes. The general consensus (I think) was that we enjoyed it but the ending lacked something something.
We headed over to a restaurant called Jack Astor’s and surprised them with a party of 9. However they were prepared for this and immediately noticed the Americans and sat us in an Elvis tribute booth (??). I think it was to make them feel more at home. Nachos were ordered and immediately was the question which begs to be asked at every Shackmeet. What’s up with smdever?
My wife and I ordered some tasty food and jcutner’s friends ordered some pizza. I’m sure they liked it as much as we liked our food. We all talked about various ShackDramas that have happened over the times and who should be banned next.
Geedeck asked a question that was tugging at his heartstrings. He inquired why does Canada hate plastic? Not understanding his query I asked him to clarify and he said that he was in CoffeeTime and they wouldn’t take debit or credit cards. I had to explain Canada’s burning need for coffee shops on every corner (this is worse than your fetish for Starbucks in Seattle) and that they don’t allow plastic so the line speeds through.
After a few barley sandwiches and lobster dip we decided to pack it up. The original idea was to go to Playdium but it was getting late and Geedeck was afraid of the Toronto bums who were trying to ram a shopping cart into Angel. I couldn’t explain this decision other than Angel was posing a threat to his heating grate.
I don’t know if some did end up going to Playdium or not since my wife and I left first.

When I think of what those people are going through over there, and the fact that they are away from their families on an indefinite deployment...my heart just goes out. I figure this is a small way that I can make their day be just one tiny smidge nicer than it might be now.

A few people may have seen posts where I mention the Klee Kai in a couple posts. They're a relatively new breed, not recognized by the AKC yet (application pending), but recognized by the UKC and several other kennel clubs. They were bred to be mini-huskies, around 15" tall for the standard size.
Today my wife got me one for my upcoming bday (7-7-77)! We drove a few hours to the breeder to choose one out, and we decided on a pet quality one instead of breeder quality, because he had the best personality and the only thing that disqualified him was that he had a shorter tail that wouldn't curl all the way over. Turns out he was like half price because of that, even though I still would've chose him first out of the bunch at full price.

So several weeks ago I noticed I was having to kill lots of little beetles, and lots of earwigs, and the occasional flying thing, and then of course eveyone's favorites, the spiders. Insects do not bother me, but spiders just freak me out. Yes, I know, but for some reason that extra pair of legs just makes it too alien for my tastes. Luckily the ones I've had have been small and thus non terrifying--yet.
So, I did what any overzealous person would do and purchased copious amounts of insecticide. While grabbing the two cans of RAID, (Ridiculous amounts of insect destroyer LOL!) I also noticed COMBAT ROACH TRAPS. I thought to myself, oh dear God, what if I have cockroaches? You never see them but they're there--we've all seen the commercials!" so I bought a package of those too.
Upon returning home I went to all the local spider/insect hangouts (like the corners where I'd always find a pile of corpses and a very cocky little spider with his nest) and glassed them with RAID, taking advantage of their "KILLS THE BUGS YOU HAVE--KEEPS KILLING FOR SIX MONTHS!" claims. Then I distributed the roach traps around the apartment. Finally, I thought, I could sleep without fear of opening my Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds one morning and having a big fat brain bug crawl out and eat me!
However, during the past two weeks, I've had to kill (by hand) about five cockroaches. Twice the stupid little bastards have fallen (or I assumed fallen, either that or they just pop in from another dimension) and landed right on my desk while I've been sitting here. I turn and there's this little inch long walking turd exploring my desk looking for something to eat. Papertowel->toilet->flush. At this point I began to worry--did I bring this upon myself with the roach traps?. Certainly it lures roaches that you may have and kills them, but is it possible that I've lured roaches I didn't have into the place? If so, is it too late to get rid of them or should I just keep the traps and hope that the population rises and then falls because the traps brought them in but then will start killing them off?

It's a more rocked out version of the Battlefield theme. Short, since i only made it to keep me sane while waiting for BF2 to come in the mail :P Haven't had a lot of comments on it yet, but one guy wondered if it was computer made or a real recording, which i take as quite a compliment since it IS made using just my computer and some samples I've downloaded from various places. So anyway, enjoy :)
Got an eye test today and my right eye is the same but my left eye is a little worse and now has astigmatism. He said I was very lucky since Acuvue just came out with their hydraclear for astigmatism. If I got the test a few months earlier, I'd be wearing glasses or very uncomfortable contacts.

I have my DVD going from the player to the RF modulator. The RF modulator connects to my TV via coax.
So why do DVDs look so interlacy? The picture quality is horrible and looked a million times better on my 15 year old 19" TV. So what am I missing? Right now I don't care about TV... I just want the best looking DVDs and video games. How should I connect this all up?

I am thinking of adding a third stick of RAM (1 GB) to make the total 2 GB. My question is: how the hell do I know if my 2 original 512 MB sticks are double sided? Becuase if they are, apparently if I throw that third stick in there, I will be forced to run at DDR333 instead of DDR400? Would that affect my processor frequency since it would be going from 200x10 to 166x10?
