I was driving on the 170 North freeway here in LA today at about 11:07am on my way home from Hollywood and this new Ford GT gets on the freeway at full speed. I mean this guy was wide open throttle and showed no sign of slowing down. A 2nd generation Mitsubishi Eclipse was up next to him trying to race him and the GT just punched it and got away then was just cruising on the freeway at 100-110. Once I saw this I decided that I need to see who was in that car and had absolutly no regard for the law (so I could give him the thumbs up). I finally caught up to him and he's chilling at like 100 with his windows down and it's none other than Jay Leno. He was on his way to work and got off a few exits later. I've met him before in real life when I've gone to see the Tonight Show a few times, but it's still funny to see him out of his element, well I guess he really was in his element, but out of the normal surroundings. The funniest thing about it was that his head took up the entire window opening, it's that large.

what companies dont take themselves *super* seriously? esp if you can tell from their logo. I can think of Google (funny press releases, lighthearted logo, etc). In-n-out is a 'maybe' on my list, but their logo is kinda 'bold'.
any other idears? bigger corps are better, but smaller ppls are cool too

So in the move to Athlon 64-dom I had to (*cries*) give up my beloved SoundStorm Nforce2 audio. Currently I'm using the onboard sound of my new mobo (Via/realtek) but I know it's not going to cut it forever so I need to start looking for a dedicated card. I have an original Audigy in my HTPC, but I never fully liked that card so I'm not going to pull it from there.
So, experts of da shack, is there a clear "best" card out there for standard analog 4.1/5.1 sound? I don't need to encode DD on the fly, even though it was a nice SoundStorm feature, but the overall tonal quality of the card was much better than this Realtek crap.

Blizzard Entertainment has just announced the very first Blizzard Convention. BlizzCon will take place on October 28 & 29 in Orange County, California (exact location to be announced later). Activities to include: question and answer panels with the developers of World of Warcraft and StarCraft: Ghost, what sure sounds like a LAN room, and a pro-gamer Warcraft III and StarCraft Invitational tournament.

so i decided that i had money burning a hole in my pocket and some free time so i went out and get WoW. I'm currently downloading the 1.5 patch and i have some questions:
a) what server should i play on (ie where are shackers playing) and why
b) is there a site (3rd party or otherwise) that says which races make the best classes
-i played a lot of DAoC and although there were a lot of choices it was very clear what type of race was best suited for a class.

I highly recommend everyone who owns a DS to go out and buy this game. If anything, the multiplayer (single or multi-cart, up to 4 players) is an absolute BLAST. Single player basically mimics the multiplayer, in that you're playing a rival planet who can drop blocks on your screen. It gets really fast paced and intense. Each level has different looking blocks and varying degrees of gravity. I play through two full levels to try and show you what I mean by that (in the first level a verticle line of blocks has a tough time reaching the top, in the second its ez-breezy).
Heck, buy the DS if you don't have one just for this game (if you like puzzlers). I was drooling over Lumines on the PSP, but I don't know if it quite stacks up to the addictiveness of Meteos. I almost stayed at work just to play instead of wasting 20 minutes driving home :(

I'm pretty sure mine is one of the worst place on earth to get one. Most ppl I know had to take the driving test more than once in order to pass. It's kinda rare to find ppl who passed it the first time. So I would rate it an 8.
And I'm taking the test in about 2.5 hrs time. OH NOS :/

So, i had my deviated septum fixed. after a painful recovery ( http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=10136121 , http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=10164040 !! ) and it's all better now. The sucky part is that I still breath through my mouth at night even though my nose is nice and clear (I'm assuming it has something to do with habits).
I wonder how one could stop breathing through their mouth at night, in a less dangerous way than clamping my jaw shut with a muzzle or something.

Anyone else like the 32 player size maps a lot more than the 64 player maps? Even with 64 players, the maps dont seem to small. In the 64 player maps it seems like theres too many flags. A team caps one flag, the other team caps another flag, its like flag tag. With less flags you can actually defend and hold flags. anyways just my opinoin.
Also good times serving under d0gbert. Good squad leader. I was playing as ironliver as always.

Base damage is just that, before any modifiers like armor or locational damage. All soldiers have 100 total health, for reference (yes, this means that the M95 does slighly under half of it's base damage to human targets on a body shot). The standing/crouching/prone/zoomed columns act as multipliers on the base deviation (deviation being a representation of accuracy. Lower number = more accurate).
These numbers are taken from under the hood of the game itself, from the .tweak files in Objects_server.zip.

2.) Is it going to be a superchore to get my Motorola wireless card to work in Linux or can I expect some assistance from both the OS and the community? I haven't looked at Motorola's website yet but I am skeptical. The wireless will be the server's primary network connection once I'm done setting 'er up here, connected directly with the onboard ethernet to the router.
