I haven't been a fan of Summer blockbusters for a long, long time... Remember when you first saw the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park? Remember the sights and sounds? How awe inspiring it was...
Well, this is like that... Except you're left trembling by the sheer magnitude of it all. The sheer devastation. This is a fantastic film and I encourage everyone to go see it. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
The entire thing just drew me in up until the last second... I felt like I knew what it would be like to go through an alien invasion - and that scares me.
Is the film perfect? No, of course not. IMHO it was pretty flawless... I won't discuss anything else about it because I don't want to go into spoiler territory.
Oh... And the sounds... Oh man, the sounds... It was deafening... It was beautiful... It was the scariest film I've ever heard! :)
Sadly enough, I've never read the source material. Can anyone tell me how it ends in the book?

Great games of B2 on the shackbattles.com server. That rocked hardcore.
I was the commander of the MEC team and we came from behind to land a pretty massive win. Awesome playing, folks. A big should out to scooper, DamRam, and Phil_Clinton for being such great leaders.

And since I absolutely hate 'modern' 'realistic' or 'ww2' fps games, BF2 is right out (there's only one person in my group of gamers who can stand that type of game).
There isn't much on the horizon that has me enormously enthusiastic either. MMO development sucks up such a ridiculous numbers of devs, there aren't a whole lot of PC titles that I'm stoked about (eg, Oblivion... oh wait, that's on 360 too :P).
The console market is also in transition right now, and a lot of devs are busy with next gen projects of one sort or another. It's going to be a kickass holiday season, but it's pretty slim pickings atm (minus a few key titles).

I don't know why, but I can handle Wizards, Hobbits, and the like, but the whole Giant Ape thing just doesn't work for me. I really do wish Peter Jackson well, I think he's a helluva director and visionary, but this will be a rental for me at best.

She has one door in the entire house aside from the front door. Everything else is sheer curtains - including the bathrooms!
She's still living there until Thursday morning, so it's a bit weird. She also has zero chairs in the entire house, and keeps her A/C on 82F 24/7. There'll be some changes once she's gone. At least she has an console-friendly TV and a RoadRunner connection. I can't wait to move into my own home. With doors. Lots and lots of doors.
I'm thinking of using Zombies as the antagonist, and survivors or something as the protagonists.
But which zombies should I use? The slow moving zombies from Return of the Living Dead seem like a good choice, because it's easier to say what they want and what their weaknesses are. Seems easier, compared to Dawn of the Dead zombies, where you don't know what the hell happened, people are just becoming undead (hell got full reason is hard to stick).

So because my friend just decided to buy this game now, five years after I had bored myself out on it, I've been playing it alot lately. Hack-n-slash, palette swapping, ah, it's all still there.
Anyway, I'm kind of confused about a few things. I can predict what the more critical answers will be, but I'm wondering if anyone has "reasonable" answers.
1.) So what's the big evil plot behind everything? Diablo, Mephisto and Baal get back together, and open up the portal to Hell so that Diablo can go back and... and what, just kick @$$ in Hell? Or are they getting ready to stage an invasion of Earth? If so, Diablo certainly isn't doing much work hanging out in his little castle, and the forces of Hell sure aren't in any organization, just running around the place pretty randomly.
2.) Considering how challenging it is for you to get to the Hellforge, did Tyrael honestly expect Marius to make it there and smash the soulstone? Marius really gets screwed over in this story. But I still love the cinematic when he and Diablo get to Tal Rasha's tomb. When Tyrael has Diablo straddled on the ground and he grabs him by the neck, or when Diablo climbs back on the bridge and Tyrael rises up behind him and grabs onto him Doctor Octopus style. Good stuff.
3.) It seems to me that the last thing the prime evils would want would be to be in possession of their own soulstone, because then if they're ever beaten, their soul is absorbed right into it and so whoever was around could just grab it and go smash it. I'd bury it somewhere and not tell anyone, that way if anyone ever beat me up, my soul would end up buried somewhere, someday to be dug up and then someone would say, "WTF is this? I think I'll plunge it into my forehead!" New game right there.
4.) When you kill Andariel, some guy in Act II (Greiz, I think) says, "I heard you were responsible for banishing Andariel back to the burning hells. That couldn't have been easy." So, when demons are killed they respawn in hell or their souls are down there, or what?
5.) If memory serves, Izual convinced Tyrael to give the Horadrim the soulstones to imprison the three prime evils, but I can't remember exactly why this was a bad thing. Without the soulstones, it seemed that (4) every time one of them came to Earth causing trouble and died, they'd just go back to hell and reincarnate themselves. With the soulstones, now they get locked into a stone when they die and someone can smash it. Or were they banking on the fact that people would do stupid things like kill Diablo and then jam the stone in their face or trust some wizard to take a stone in the gut and fight with the demon inside him forever.
And why does pulling the soulstone out of Tal Rasha's chest make Baal come to life? Wouldn't he come out with the stone?

Welcome to another edition of the Sebastion Loeb show! *sigh* With this rally he sets a new WRC record and ties another. He has now one 5 rallys in a row (new record), and one six of eight so far (ties a record). That and this is now just half way through the season.
Petter Solberg, his main rival, suffered technical problems and finished 9th so basically Loeb is already looking like he has the season wrapped up. Hopfully he hits a bad streak soon, just to liven things up a bit.

Here is the situation:
Employee Computers <---> Switch <---> ISP Controller Router
I want to prevent the employees from access all but a handful of sites... I'd love to set up access rights on the router or what not, but I don't have access to IT. So, I assume I need to set up a computer on the switch that is targetted by the rest of the employee computers, takes connections, and maintains a list of website access rights.
Any suggestions for software packages?
Everything I've looked at so far is overkill. For example, WebSense, or WinGate Proxy... I'd like a simple solution. An easy solution. And it needs to work on Windows.
Ideas? :/
