2K Games has released the Serious Sam 2 E3 2005 trailer, showing gameplay and engine fly-by footage. The Croteam developed shooter will be released this fall on PC and Xbox.

I still fondly recall that one courtyard right near the end of Serious Sam 1, where an endless torrent of skeleton things and werebulls pour down on you from all sides and circle the walls like it's hell's own toilet bowl. Hundreds and hundreds of them. And this is just a warm-up for that ridiculous run to the pyramid. That's the gameplay I want from a Sam game, and I just don't see it here. Totally xboxed.

I'm extremely interested in the future eras. I enjoyed the first game's two parts, but the similar locations sort of became drab. It'll be nice to have some new locations to smash through. The thing I love about Serious Sam is that it doesn't take itself too, well, serious. It's an arcade shooter that doesn't try to be anything else, but also has a ton of humor throughout. Some hidden, some obvious. Good times.

I for one can't wait. I also just aquired an Athlon 1600 (Up from my Athlon 900) so I should be able to run it a little better than I would have been able to.

Usually I'd give those screenshots a big fat meh but Serious Sam was dripping with a fast and fun gameplay so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Looks ok. Seeing the E3 presentations took some wind out of my sails. Almost seemed like he was having a hard time keeping anyone interested in his level he was showing off. He was blowing tons of shit up and for some reason it didn't look very satisfying. Everything seemed ho-hum for some reason. Hopefully the game keeps it's charm and really ups the ante. The trailer looks good and it looks like there will be a lot of work put into this. I just hope the E3 presentation isn't an omen of what's to come.

It just occurred to me that Serious Sam, as a character is not particularly serious. Similarly, Duke Nukem was probably never awarded title from a royal house.

I assume, however, that Solid Snake is not permeable.
