However, the only pitfall I forsee the developers falling into would be taking it too seriously. I know it's not a comedy ala NOLF, but there comes a point when you push the drama, suspense, horror, whatever else, to the point of pretentious.

In games they should be one hit kills (if they go off within 5 feet of you) so that you can use them strategically. If someone throws one at you, you have no choice but to break cover. Halo did grenades right, multiple kills off a single grenade and throwing baddies through the air like ragdolls, limbs akimbo.
Of course, for all I know, the guy in the video had already been pumped full of ammo and only had on hit point left, so the grenade qualified as 'overkill' so he gibbed. Maybe it still takes 5 direct hits with a grenade ro kill someone in the game, but I hope they get it right.

There were times where I could use the unarmed attacks and take down teams of four people--all firing guns at me. You just run in like a ninja and rape them all if you know what you're doing. Trust me dudes, if Monolith has polished the engine since Decemeber, this game is going to be hot.
