Hey we watched Dreamcatcher the other night.

I had not read the book, but the movie was really really good untill the last 10 to 15 mins. I was really into it, then I shook my head on the last parts.

It had a nice rythm and build through the movie, then the last part near the resivoir went to fast and to was really a let down. I have read other Stephen King novels to know his style of writing, and this just did not fit.

Ok, I was inspired by the CHINA Broadband post - and actually, have been meaning to ask this question for a while.. What is the next big leap in internet-pipeline? Like from dial-up to broadband. Is there some major, huge new pipeline coming down the road? Something that will change the internet as we know it? I haven't seen anything - anyone know?

How come people see my helmet and ask me what I'm riding, or the lady at the bank sees my loan is for a motorcycle and asks what kind it is. I say, "It's a Honda.." and I pause slightly to see if that's good enough and then continue, "..VTX 1800" To which she replies, "Oh! That's a big bike!" Exclaiming cause I'm not a huge biker. So it sounds like she knows what I'm talking about. Then she adds on, "Is that a crotch rocket?" Hrm.
Basically, I don't like people asking "What bike do you have?" When they won't understand a single word I say. It's like joe blow asking what kind of motherboard you have and then when you tell them they're like, "so is that a video card?"

ok, I'm a moron but that's besides the point.

I leveled a troll priest to level 22 now, and I'm really enjoying being a priest. I feel uber useful, and I'm excited to find out what happens at 41 once I get my shadow form as I'm going for the following build in shadow shown at the end of the post.

Here's my problem, I hear great great things about using Devoring Plague and I don't get that. Is it really that useful for me to switch to an undead priest along with getting WotF? I know WotF is INCREDIBLY useful but is DP really that great in order to switch and relevel back to 22 again? I want to be an extremely powerful PvP priest, but is it really that worth it? Lemme know what you think guys Sad.

Wish I had known about this last week. Man the undead sure do get a lot of the cooler racial abilities!

How do I explain to these people over at TXB that 720p is more important than 1080i for next gen consoles and TVs? There disregarding 720p as useless when I thought in fact it is better than 1080i since it has faster framerates and 1080i is actually half the lines doubled or whatever(sorry I dont know the exact terminology but dont shoot me)

Star Wars Ep3 Thoughts.

Scrolled through the comments, didn't see anybody talk about this, so I thought I'd bring it up. This really isn't much of a spoiler, since we all know Anakin goes bad, but I'll tag it anyway. The topic is basically the pyschology of Anakins fall, which I was surprised to find rather well done.

Anakin is confused and feels isolated. The Jedi let him down by not upholding their convictions (you can clearly see this in the Mace Windu/Palpatine scene). Palpatine lets him down by being a Sith Lord. Anakin can't find a side he really likes/trusts. In the end, he snaps and chooses a side (the side that will keep Padme alive) and then he just sticks to it all the way. His reasons for going through with everything evil are because he couldn't stand the indecision of everything, and he doesn't want to do something half way. This is supported by ObiWan saying that only a Sith thinks in absolutes: ie, it's wrong to not leave any room for the possibility that you are wrong, which by the way doesn't mean that you are wrong or shouldn't believe strongly in anything.

Not to say that is the only reason why he fell, but I think that was a huge part of it.

Shack SQL help

So, a month ago I migrated an ezboard community over to phpBB. This was great, except it meant I got stuck with admin duties.

One of the problems I havn't been able to solve is that when the migration happened, all of the user accounts were auto created and a null email addy was filled in. So, there are thousands of user accounts that have (username)@null.nu as the address on file.

This is generating a shitload of email returns since people are subscribing to threads and not updating their profile with a real email addy. I would like to go into the database and basically wipe out all of the placeholder emails with the @null.nu extention, but I have no idea how. It's a mysql database, and i can access it through phpmyadmin or whatever that thing is called.

Any ideas?

Good morning shack! Made it to Kyoto alive - Vietnam was awesome. I'd like to go back to live and work there for a few years. After my redeye flight from Hanoi, I was exhausted by my travels and the brutal fights - Illiterate Gaijin vs. Japanese Rail System was a flawless victory for Illiterate Gaijin, but the immediate follow-on bout versus Takushii Untenshu didn't go so well - "nihongo ga wakarimasen" and a helpless shrug turns out to not be a very good combo move. I ended up about a mile from where I was supposed to meet the friend I'm staying with house.

Yesterday I walked across the city, then met up with my friend after he finished work. We went to have some drinks and play darts, then called up some girls he knows and ended up having more drinks and singing karaoke, which is a lot more fun in a small booth with friends than up in front of an entire bar.

I think today I have an undercard fight with Kyoto City Bus System before the title bout against Finding Food in a Foreign Country - anyone want to place their bets?

When you're chatting with someone and he/she shows you some emoticon/animation/whatever, do you have the option to right-click it and "Add" it to your own emoticon gallery?

Apparently some people do have this option, but i only get "Copy".

This is intriguing me for some days now.
