I channel surfed into Jurrasic Park on Sci-Fi just now and they were at my favorite part (no, the lawyer getting bitten in half is second): the cheesy intoduction movie that they watch after they get to the island. It is so spot-on dorky and cheesy that it is a perfect example of horrid corporate films. A++ Would watch again.

It's strange observing how tastes change over time (or stay the same). It's hard to do this with games, because as a medium games change so rapidly. For books, it is possible, but still difficult due to exposure (there are so many books you just might not get around to at a young age, you can't know if you would've liked them back then). I tend to dismiss music from this phenomenon, because aside from real classics, my taste in music tends to be a bit flighty.

But movies, oh man. I love rewatching some stuff and having the horrible realization of "oh, I used to like this"?

So let's see. How about 3 Ninjas? Anyone remember that festival of pain? Man, I liked that as a kid.

car is running an Integra Type R 1.8l (might be 2.0l by now.) with a monstrous turbo and an intercooler from a R34 skyline :p Owners some rich dude and this is his plaything lol. He's rarely brought it home apparently, it's been sitting at Visworks for over a year, always does something to it, takes it out has fun, brings it back, does some more shit to it :P

no more technicals other than the above, no times but I'm fairly certain this thing would probably be doing very much less than 0-60 in less than 4seconds since a mildly uprated 1.8l ITR engine on an elise does 4ish seconds to the century.

So who else has an OKCupid account? ( www.okcupid.com ) It's basically a match site from the people who created TheSpark.com. Best of all it's free, which is how much I like to pay for things. It inherits from TheSpark the history of lots of Tests, most of them written by users.

The userbase is mostly very educated, emo-type people. Oddly enough, I recognize some of the Atlanta users that I recognize from myspace.com or friendster. I hope that OKC picks up some of the myspace features (so long as servo doesn't continue to abuse them). I've already met 2 people that are really cool, and there's a few more that I've chatted with some.

PS TheSpark.com is dead because Barnes & Noble bought it out and then just maintained sparknotes. No more Stinky Meat :(

Any of you guys know what the deal with the DualDisc edition of With Teeth is? Neither Amazon nor Best Buy give the option to preorder that edition, but they allow to preorder the regular edition.

BTW, looks like Best Buy will be selling the regular one for $10 and the DualDisc for $12.

Been playing most of the night now.

I really don't know what to make of this game. I'm just past the part where you go thru the acadamy and play your first PvP battle. My team got decimated. I didn't have a clue what to do tho. Is there no training portion to this game?? I was just blindly clicking on people to attack them.

What's with the forced grouping tho? I didn't really like that I was randomly setup with 3 other dudes just like that. Then we had to do a scripted sequence together. We did that and I talked to some npc who was telling more of the storyline. All of a sudden I get a loading screen for old Ascalon. WTF? Was it because one of my group decided to zone? So we all automatically follow? PLEASEEE say this isn't the case. I can't stand games that follow that mentality. So what if they're not interested in the storyline... I AM, and I want time to read the quest / convo screens.

I dunno... so far the only thing it has going for it is the beatiful gfxs. WoW has so much more polish, it's not even funny.

So I finally picked up the Predator DVD today. Holy fuck, that movie is every bit as good now as it was when it was released. I wish they still made action movies like that :(

Just gauging the audience here..

How many of you have an HDTV? I'm debating when to switch to one considering funds are somewhat tight at the moment and that I think my current Sanyo 34" is on its way out (noticing dark / dark green spots in a couple of the corners).

What's the best purchase vs. price at this time?

Fucking FedEx

Their tracking page says that they tried to drop my Tiger OS X package off yesterday. But they didn't even leave a note.

It's currently at the local FedEx facility or something. I'm in Seattle.

Does FedEx deliver on Saturdays? Do they usually not leave a note?

Jebus. Eight+ hours of retail sucks the life out of you. I got plenty of sleep last night but I passed out minutes after getting home from work today - an hour+ nap I just woke up from, sheesh. I think I am going to increase my effort towards getting some physical labor work, because it pays waaay better and couldn't be any more soul-sucking than this.

And today was actually a good day where cool people were working and the customers were not insane. :/
