Ubisoft Results; Rainbow Six Lockdown Delay
by Maarten Goldstein, Apr 28, 2005 2:21pm PDTUbisoft announced fourth quarter 2004-2005 results today, announcing sales of 221 million euros (~285 million USD) for that period. Brothers In Arms made a strong debut, with 1.7 million copies sold since its release. Ubisoft also announced sales of 5.1 million Splinter Cell units (including 2.5 million Chaos Theory ones), 3 million Prince of Persia units, and 2.8 million copies of Ghost Recon. The announcement also has an updated release schedule, showing yet another delay for Rainbow Six: Lockdown. Originally scheduled for release earlier this year, it was previously delayed to some time between April-June 2005, but now it's not due until the July-September. More troubling is the absence of a PC release date, only Xbox, PS2 and GameCube are listed. The action racing game 187 Ride or Die also doesn't carry a PC release date anymore. The schedule does show two previously unannounced PC games: No Surrender: Battle for the Bulge, and Firefighter Command: Raging Inferno. No details are mentioned, but E3 is just around the corner.
