Is there a single player demo for this thing?

Yeah, but only for the Xbox. It's in the disk for the Xbox mag with the Doom 3 demo on it. It's nothing exciting. You basically walk through a nice looking valley with autum-y trees and shoot a bunch of generic guards, and get a few weapon upgrades. Only the machine gun and grenade launcher are in the demo.
I think I'm going to get the game, not cause I'm jonesing for it, but because I think the last new FPS I played was HL2. I just need a new shooter to play, and the SP story might be... entertaining I guess.-

Oh I've already played PK. I have the expansion pack, but all those graphical bells and whistles make it run like ass on my machine, so I'm waiting to get a new system before I install that. Same thing with the Doom 3 x-pack.
So I'm in need of a new FPS that actually runs on a 9700, and the Pariah MP demo runs quite well.-

Vanilla PK runs amazingly well on my rig. Smoothest gaming experience I've had in a looooong time. But I DLed that updated SP demo of the abandonded military base with all the extra effects that they put into the expansion pack and my performance was... well, not Doom 3 bad, but considerably worse. So I'll just wait till I have an Athlon64/Radeon x800 machine to run it on.

the Maxim demo is very buggy and short. I'd bet DE was pretty pissed that it was let out in that condition (love or hate their games, they usually release a well polished product).
I look at Pariah MP like a cross between an arcade and tactical shooter without the stupid dodging and double jumps. Personaly I like it but I can see where it wouldn't be everyones cup-o-tea.
