It feels like such a short time ago XBox came out, really still not used to the idea that another one will be on shelves by the end of the year. First map was gazala. I only have ONE thing off on my config but everything else was flowing. I get to the B17, and I start making passes. It doesn't take long for the allies to start cursing me. The axis worked as a team and were keeping flags. The allies made a consorted effort to fuck us up but we had the air support that we needed.
Next it was off to fight in Russia in kursk. The allies took the front lines fast. We held for a long time. Then those trixie axis mofos pushed past and took a flag. then another. It was looking grim for the boys in blue. The pilots were going down, the tanks were rolling fierce. Then we managed to capture one flag. Then another. HOORJ! Victory.
Later we played kharkov. Again the allies start out strong. We took the hill and fast. Then, as I come back for more ammo I see umax. I get one shot off and he puts a bullet in my teeth. NOOOO! I warn everyone on teamspeak but it was too late. Later as we lost the bloody battle it was recounted that the turning point in that battle was Umax's brave effort to take that hill.
Appleflappen. The axis held a strong effort in this map to keep the allies away. I quickly captured the SW point and the Axis quickly captured it and held it. Even as I was taking Sammy out in the AA gun and picking off soldiers like they were ants with my mustang, the axis fought strong. They had AMAZING base defenses and only 2-3 times did we even get it grey. Bravo axis team, bravo.
Aberdeen. The dirty gritty African tank battle was an amazing come back for the allied forces. Twice we managed to sneak behind enemy lines and grey out the German main base. This distraction served as gold for our front line boys. Kudos to the black ops team on the allied forces!
Omaha Beach. The allied dough boys fought sniper fire and MG42 fire to take the beach in record time. Although the first cock boat out had a driver who was a little drunk and got us off course, his crazy maneuvering threw off the Germans. Our battle ship softened up the cliffs. Finally, a large group of us were able to push in and take the flag. Ill never forget being pinned down in enemy lines, unloading a clip into two Germans. Then, as I heal myself and my fellow soldier, I start my reload. Then out of nowhere a German comes around the corner. He makes Swiss cheese out of my fellow medic. I pull my colt and put one in his eye. We never captured the upper most flag, but we took enough Germans down that it didn't matter.
Market Garden! I loved the exchange on teamspeak. "We gotta get the enemy fighter down!" "There is no enemy fighter" *Boom* BF-109 takes out one of our tanks. Of course, this was only topped by my fast take off of the B17 combined with Helter's fast take off of the Mustang. We lost our edge and yet we still pulled our shit together. I only took one round of the B17 out and my god it was delicious. I was never shot down but in a bridge clearing drop I think some silly engineer was out on the bridge catching sun. Well, he caught a friendly bomb and I was thusly punished. Despite the extra air support on the German side AND them grabbing the Church (which, when we got it back to grey someone on TS said "WERE LOSING THE CHURCH!" to which helter and I said at the same time "We already lost it!"). It was a hellish war on the ground. I'm sure of this as I had a good view point from the air.
More maps were played. I think we hit 60 some people at one point. It was EPIC. It was GRITTY. It was HARD. It was FUN. It was BF1942: Shackbattle!!!

Jewel - Who Will Save Your Soul
Man, the album versions of her songs are so much better. None of that radio sheen-- they sound a lot deeper, more of the folk-jam feeling. She could easily pass off as an Aimee Mann or Ani DiFranco with slightly more cliched lyrics and a slightly better voice. Then again Jewel's hugely hit-and-miss unlike the aforementioned, but still fun for the occasional listen-binge.

The roof wasn't built properly (roof joists were warped, wasn't watertight, there was snow in the roof, etc), the dirt under the foundation wasn't compacted properly (so the house is sinking and cracking the foundation), the foundation wasn't waterproofed so groundwater was seeping into the basement, the plumbing was done horribly (running stuff through load-bearing pieces of the structure, high-pressure lines running right next to the electrical panel, etc) and the list goes on.
And they only wanted to add an addition for their son who's wheelchair bound. Part 2 is apparently on the 28th!

Of course to have you duck or stand when you move the joypad up or down at any moment would suck so it would probably have to be set after a duck button is pressed that keeps your character ducked till you moved the pad to a stand up position or hit duck again. Now that I think about you could apply that to knocking over tables and other things of that nature.
