Late Night Consoling

The newly revealed details on The Legend of Zelda are a bit surprising, especially the bit of 70 hours of gameplay. I'd really like to know what that entails; is it straight story or can you waste 10 hours doing horse races for Rupees or something? I think this day and age, expecting the consumer to last that long with one game is stretching it. The experience would have to be phenomenal through and through. If that's the case, then it shall be a blessing. Oh, and haha, the whole idea of last night's intro was spawned from viewing this video, found on AsianJokes.com, which is from a Hong Kong movie or show. It features stuntmaster Jackie Chan dressed as different Street Fighter characters. Pretty funny seeing him dressed as Chun-Li! Can't believe I forgot to link it.

  • New Details on The Legend of Zelda

    [gcn]
A Spanish gaming magazine recently had the opportunity to play a few demos of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda for the GameCube and GamesAreFun were able to scrounge up the details. At the beginning, Link is 16 years old and he will grow throughout the epic adventure, which can be as long as 70 hours. Horse combat will play a large role in the game. The controls are very similar to Ocarina of Time, with the return of Z-targeting (now done with the L trigger) and automatic jumping. An emphasis was placed on realistic water since there will be an aquatic underworld. Cuccos are back. We should know a heck of a lot more come E3.
  • Images of the Xbox 360

    [xbox]
TeamXbox sticks up a possible image of the Xbox 360 system, thanks to a photo found at Ourcolony.net. As you can see, pretty difficult to get an idea of what it is we're looking at, but the gray coloring may debunk the rumor of a white console. However, TeamXbox was able to confirm that these photos are indeed pics of the Xbox 360 development kit. The system is actually a PowerMac G5 (oh the irony!) and it houses dual Power Mac 2GHz process, 512MB of memory, and an ATI X800 video card.
  • Scarface Game to Have All-Star Cast

    [xbox]
VU Games announced that Al Pacino has agreed to lend his likeness to the videogame adaptation of Scarface. Sadly, he will not voice his role but other Hollywood stars will lend theirs. Jay Mohr, Cheech Marin, and James Wood, among others, will play roles in this mature action title. A playable version will be at E3.
  • Nintendo Reveal Details of NYC Store

    [nintendo]
The Nintendo World Store at Rockefeller Center in NYC is geared for launch on May 14. Serving as the new headquarters for the Pokemon Center, the store will offer exclusive items and an Ultra-Pokedex. The store will sell exclusive Nintendo items not found anywhere else in the world and have plenty of demo stations available. "Nintendo chose New York City as the home for the first-ever Nintendo World store as New York has always been the center of non-stop excitement, just like Nintendo," said George Harrison, a veep at Nintendo of America. Oh really, George? Tell that to the gamers that only had a N64!
