Age of Conan Announced

Finally, a Conan title! I was hoping someone would make another one.

Is it just me, or do the graphics in this game look AMAZING.

Not related to the game, but taken from the site's forum - possible new Conan movie scrapped for time being:

"King Conan: Crown of Iron: Looks like hopes of seeing this third "Conan" on adventure have been dashed. IGN FilmForce reports that John Milius, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Larry and Andy Wachowski and Warner Brothers have all been given the shaft from working on the project in pretty much any capacity. Seems that Conan Properties Inc., the company that owns the Conan character, has decided not to allow Warners or the Wachowski's to renew their option on the film rights - an option that's apparently about to expire. The company is allegedly upset with how long the project was taking to develop, whilst the Wachowski's ongoing commitment to finishing "The Matrix" sequels meant it wouldn't have advanced any faster. However the project isn't entirely dead, CP Inc. wants to develop "a kinder, gentler Conan" which'll use "The Scorpion King" as a template (ie. they want a PG-13 family safe adventure). "

This looks freaking fantastic!! Loved the original Conan the Barbarian movie, hopefully this will do it some justice in an original way. Now if only they can get Basil Poledouris to do the soundtrack...

I love Conan - huge fan of the comic series years back.

That might be able to entertain me on the melee aspects until Rune comes out.

This looks really cool. It also looks very ambitious, which is both exciting in that they might pull it off, and worring because they may not :|

Looks hot. Good melee is so difficult to pull off though, we'll soon see if they're up to the task.

There is so much good fiction from Conan, glad someone is putting it to use.

Funcom... maybe they should hire some Blizzard employees or get some Koreans... then maybe I'd look forward to playing this.

So uh... I'm assuming you don't have to pay a montly fee to play the single player portion of the game?

But does it have a Walker Texas Ranger Lever?

This reminds me of a Viking MMORPG they were working on as a follow up to Anarchy - don't think much was announced about it though. Guess this is what it became. Neat idea to have proper single player in there too.

Anarchy Online is one of my most favorite mmo's ever, but I can't bring myself to go back to it being so old. This will probally break my wow addiction.
