New World of Warcraft Patch

Blizzard has released new patches for the US version of World of Warcraft, updating the game to v1.4.0. There is an incremental patch from v1.3.1, as well as a full download. When actually reachable, the World of Warcraft site has patch notes here.

Anybody hit the "treasure arena" in Stranglethorn last night? What's in it?

What annoys me the most is that anytime they do something to the servers, the site is worthless because it becomes really slow or doesnt load at all. If they are going to keep us from playing atleast let us read up on things on the website :( . Lets not even talk about the patch downloader, it's a good thing we got game sites to download from ;)

Hahah... watching everyone complain about the servers being down is like watching a bunch of crack junkies beg for a hit. It's hilarious.

I broke my addiction a while back when I came to the realization that it's just one big quest grind. Fetch this, kill that, go here, then go there.

Meh, I'll probably go back some day... but I don't miss it much.

Anybody else going to put instances on hold and get their PVP TM on? Think I might reroll for the fourth time this week and go up the fury line for bloodthirst and improved intercept. Looks like a nice first blow to greet some alliance... with a slow 2H. However there is a couple other nice looking builds. Like a Fury/Protect build, built around piercing howl and concussion blow.

my server (zul'jin) went up for like 30 minutes and heard all the pvp caused it to crash :) (non-pvp server). Too bad i wasn't there for it. Back to work now....grrr

With eleventy million dollars per month revenue, you'd think they could afford to employ enough engineers to apply patches way, WAY off peak hours in whatever time zone each server is in. You'd also think they could afford more than enough bandwidth and server headroom to keep the website etc. running smoothly.

I've heard that Blizzard's hosting provider really got them by the balls when it turned out that demand was massively higher than predicted. They're probably milking the everliving fuck out of Blizzard's bank account for every little increase in capacity.
