My girlfriend keeps emailing me micro plans ("do you want to watch tv at 9:30 tonight?") and as a busy guy/component, I thought it best to tell her to reinterface.

You need a plan buffer in which you buffer all your planning and
impulses into a queue and then, when either MAX_TIME has passed or
MAX_PLANS have been reached, you pass the information on to the
Michael subsystem. Michael is a focus-oriented component
and cannot task switch without incurring a significant overhead.
Interfacing with this inefficient component is best done through a
buffered stream similar to how data compression is handled on a
standard modem.

I think I want to make a Psychonauts-ey level for HL2 where everything is all bendy and out of proportion.

I mean, after the time I spent on the one level I did, http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=6139 I look at the HL2 texture scheme and design ideal and feel like I don't ever want to work like that again, even tho I never felt that level was 'successful', and the players who did like it asked for more - I specifically got 3 different ppl asking me to try an urban night map for CS:S.

I am contrary mother fucker. I can't do the same type project twice; I get so turned off as soon as a think I get anywhere near the hang of something. But right now I look at the art and images of Psychonauts and get that little mental "tickle" - that 'oh I likes dat berry much!' feeling. :)

HALP COMPUTAR

Home network behind a DI-624 D-Link wireless router. It is connected to our DSL line.

Up until last week it was just fine then suddenly we started noticing pages not loading the first time we visited them and it would take a few refreshes to load the page. On the unsuccessful page loads the url would get prefaced with: http:///?%20 , like http:///?%20.shacknews.com

Adaware, Spybot, Hijack This and Stinger all come up Neg.

If we configure a pc with a static IP and hook it up straight to the modem the problem goes away. So it seems router related, but I'll be damned if I can find a fix for it. Any ideas at all out there in the shack collective?

how to fix wow pvp

1. all areas are considered "full pvp" with no restrictions on which characters can attack eachother.
2. all guards are removed. npcs don't aggro unless attacked.
3. when a player dies he drops .5% of his gold. he also drops one boe item determined at random. there is a 20% chance the item will be selected from an equipped slot and an 80% chance it will be randomly selected from the character's backpack slots.
4. a player loses a significant amount of honor for dying in pvp combat. all honor ranks are kept hidden to the player. the player with the highest honor total and the guild with the highest ratio of honor to members are displayed in the server's motd.
5, communication between factions is permitted.

So this looks like it'd be an awesome vacation package (haven't looked around, but I'm just linking this for the hell of it), but the cheapest tickets I've found so far for the 7/16 dates are $1599 a person, so that brings it to a grand total of close to $2500 for the entire trip.

Seeing those sites would be so fucking awesome. I've always been fascinated by ancient Egypt, and this would probably be the vacation of my life. People tell me that if I'm going to do any travelling, that I should do it now while I'm young, because I "won't be able to" later in life. Whether that's true or not depends on a person's situation I think, but either way, how the hell does one afford a trip like this as a college student?! Take out some extra money for student loans and stash it away until the summer? :(

Failing hard drive questions

So one of my Western digital hard drives just belched out the worst noise you can hear when you haven't backed up in a few months, the clicks of death. I immediately shutdown (hopefully this wasn't a bad thing) and am typing from a friend's PC so I can ask a few questions:

Is it likely that the drive will turn back on? If so, how much time should I have before it completely dies?

There is a freezer trick that I've read about where you can put the drive in the freezer for a few hours and it *might* give you some extra time before the drive completely dies. Does this work? And if so, should I put the drive in there before I try turning my computer back on again?

Both drives are Western Digital, one is 70gb and the other is 90gb. The 90 is completely full and I'm wondering if the 3-5 clicks I heard might be related to the drive being at capacity and when I had a torrent going the drive head was resetting. Any ideas?

Okay, so I've been having some back trouble. I've had upper back problems for some time, the muscle under the left shoulder blade just gets totally knotted up. Well, a few weeks ago, I started having some severe pain around the lower left of my abdomen and shooting down the front of my leg. It was so bad, i could barely lift my left leg up and I walked with a bit of a limp.

Go to the doctor, she gives me muscle relaxants and sends me home. Motherfucker is still hurting for over 2 weeks. I went to see my regular doctor Last Thursday, he sends me for X-Rays.

I found out today I have degenerative disk disease (who doesn't) and the problem is sciatica. Big fucking help.

Dammit, this shit HURTS.

Damn, still slicing like a mofo at the driving range. Tried forcing myself to lock my left elbow as I cross the ball so that the club and my hands stay lined up (as someone here suggested yesterday) but that ball still flies a good 100-200 yards forward and some 70-100 to the right.

Are there any adaptors for PS2 that will allow DC controllers to be used? I've scored a DC arcade stick brand new for a good price, and while I definitely have enough DC games that warrant an arcade stick (and I might have to hunt down a copy of Ikaruga instead of playing my GC version), if I could use it on PS2 as well then that would be awesome. I'm sure such adaptors exist, you can get the same thing for XBOX (I have one already), I just can't find them on Play-Asia or Lik-Sang. I don't know if I'm looking straight thru them or what.
