Shadow Warrior Source Code Released

3D Realms sends along the Shadow Warrior source code, allowing you to modify the 1.2 codebase for the game. The code is licensed under the terms of the GPL (gnu public license), and this release doesn't mean you can distribute the original Shadow Warrior data files.

    This is what, over 10 years old? Is anyone going to try to work with the Build engine at this point? Am I missing something or is this an (unfunny) April 1 joke?

      they got duke3d working under Windows, so I imagine similar things will happen with this game.

      This'll allow for porting to other platforms such as Linux.

      When people hack old engines and add crazy new features in, it shows they
      know how to program. You should see some of the things people have done
      with RotT and similar old engines.

      The duke3D source led to some pretty nice ports/mods. Shadow Warrior has some pretty rabid fans, who knows what we'll see.
