Late Night Consoling
by Alec Matias, Mar 31, 2005 8:00pm PSTI spent hours yesterday planning the E3 flights for Steve, Maarten, and myself and ugh, it was such a nightmare! But all is good and hopefully on our flight together to Los Angeles we can play some PSP over WiFi, mess up the plane's guidance control and cause it to crash 'n burn. First thing I'm doing is kickin' Steve's butt in Lumines and then I'll take it to the house in NBA Street Showdown with Maarten. Afterwards, I'll whip out my Nintendo DS and talk to myself in PictoChat. =(
- Sources close to GamesIndustry.biz have told the site that the European launch of the PSP may be delayed all the way until September. It was previously thought June would be the month. The cause of such a delay would be shortages in Japan and the U.S. The official release date is expected to be announced at E3.
Euro PSP in September?
[psp] - GameSpot took a look at some recent issues of Japanese gaming mags and came away with snippits about what Japanese devs thought about Microsoft's next-gen console. Okamoto's Game Republic will be working on a party game that should appeal to a wide range of people. It will make full use of Xbox Live. Mizuguchi's Q? Entertainment has an action title in the works, stating he was impressed with Microsoft's commitment to HD video and the hardware's sound design. Finally, Sakaguchi says the game his company, Mistwalker, is working on will try and do away with the cinematic presentation of recent releases. He believes only the person playing should be fully aware of what's going on.

[ps2] - The latest rumor at Spong suggests that Microsoft's follow-up to the Xbox, currently codenamed Xenon, will feature downloadable demos. These demos, to be showcased over Xbox Live, will be ready day one of the system's life, offering gamers the opportunity to try before they buy. A couple issues this brings up is what to do about the official magazine, which can attribute the demo disc as a huge reason behind its sales numbers. Hopefully E3 will shed some more details.
