Weather has been pretty good the past two weeks, surprising considering we had the most snow ever in a few decades at the start of the month. Been playing a bunch of Act of War skirmish games recently. Still trying to figure out the AI. Gotta build stuff in the right order or the computer just comes marching in and kicks my ass. Once you got your super weapon built though, it's on. Does the game crash for anyone else when you destroy a bank? Also on FileShack

Not really sure if it's worth checking out, but all signs point to it being like Rome: Total War in the Napoleonic(?) era. Lots of musket battles and huge naval battles with old school armadas. Sounds nifty to me at least :)

On the mission in Japan, I overheard these 2 guards, and one was saying how ninjas wiped out his whole team once, and he was trying to get the other guy to take his route. So they part, I grab him and he goes "I KNEW IT!" "What?" "Youre a ninja aren't you?! How else could you sneak up on me?" The whole thing cracked me up, I threatened to kill him and he said something like "wow, I cant believe I'm going to be killed by a REAL ninja!"
He reminded me of a shacker being interrogated by Sam Fisher.
Also did anyone else overhear the Prince of Persia 2 convo in Displace?

I have returned the bass and volume of my stereo to their "normal" levels to see if he does his stupid dance again. I'm thinking of responding to him in dots and dashes or something. I don't know morse code but it would be fun to bang on the ceiling in reply. If immature, just like him.

What I'd really like is a thumper on the ceiling. As soon as it detects any seismic activity, it returns with its own regular, distinctive banging.
Although in all seriousness, the office asked if I wanted them to do something, and I said I'd wait to see if the shenanigans continue. So w00t, as suggested last night I'm the first name on the list of people complaining if this turns into a he-said he-said pissing contest.

Due to construction, my commuting route changes once a month or so. My road is under construction for a least another year. In these routes, the actual lanes that are open change weekly and which turns you are allowed to make change almost as frequently. I come upon my 'usual' turn, but directly after this turn is a blinking sign that says "No Left Turn." I hesitate and think, "Surely this isn't for this intersection, but for the intersection 1/2 block up the street. They would have put an earlier indicator of no turn than at (slightly after) the turn."
Wrong. Cops were setting in the parking lot waiting for someone to make the turn.
1. First time i've ever been pulled over.
2. Ticket should be $75 for "No Left turn posted" violation, but it's a moving violation in a construction zone. Doubles to $150.
3. Getting the ticket amended or deffered or whatever to a parking violation is double the ticket, $300.
So now I have to show up to court and pay $300 because of confusing construction that changes weekly (freaking end of the month quota if you ask me).

Getting a business site developed....basically, the dev team has completely fouled up - they are way past any deadlines, their QA sucks, they keep failing to address issues that we find....however, slowly and surely they correct whats wrong, and eventually they will get it done, but we are at the end of our patience. they are taking too damn long. So we want to penalize them...for every day the site isn't finished, a portion of the final bill will be deducted.
we are of limited means, and cannot afford to scrap this site infavor of another developer. My fear is that they complete the site, we pay them minus their penaltly, and they do something malicous to the site - back doors and what not. plus we also expect some technical support after the site goes live...but again, not paying the full amount may place that in jeoprady. - is this a risk?
what do you think we should do?

Well woot, after 4 months my Hitachi Deskstar 250gig hard drive died hard last night. I'm about to go down to frys and see if they'll return it, they have a pretty good return policy. I lost so much stuff I'm not even going to go into it as it just makes me depressed. A couple google searches and theres a ton of other pissed off owners of the same drive, i'll never touch a "Deathstar" again.
Anyways what brand hard drive does the shack recommend? Looking for ~250 gig, had good luck with western digitals, but always open to input. THX!
