This was posted a few weeks ago in that 'free game' thread (http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=9640446) but I thought it should be mentioned seperatelyl, as it's what i'm enjoying most from that list.
Colossus (http://colossus.sourceforge.net/) is a java implementation of an old Avalon Hill game called Titan (http://www.cheewai.com/titan/titan.asp). It plays similar to Ogre Battle in that the goal is to kill their general and there is a world map as well as battle submaps. It also supports hotseat play and network play, which is very cool IMO.
Anyway, if anyone is up for a game you can reach me on AIM at rhinopig11 (and i'm not putting that in my profile so write it down while you can, ladies), or just reply to this thread (might be a better idea if a few people want to get a game together).

I started playing and was starting to get into it, then all the sudden the game kept crashing back to desktop with some sort of ddhelp error thing.
Wtf? all i want to do is play the game, but almost every time it loads a new area it is crashing now...this makes me very sad.

On the hot chick front, I didn't see hardly ANY hot babes all friggin week. I was truly disappointed. It was a major WTF week on the mountain, as all the hot chicks apparently didn't want to go skiing this year. Next year, we're going back to South Padre. Of course, they'll all probably snow ski next year, but that will just be another one of God's little jokes on Phil. Along the same lines as the small penis and large waistline. But I digress.
I tried to get you guys some good pics, but let me tell ya, when you're pushing 40, overweight, you're having to carry your skis, ski boots, poles, along with your youngest sons skis and poles along with all the regular shit you have to take, plus you're at a 12,000' elevation, MOTHERFUCK! it was hard on an old guy. But of course I got pics. Have I ever let you guys down? Anyway, here we go.

This is one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. Not only was it completely stupid, it was filled with blatant propaganda. The pansy White nerd main character befriends a Mestizo, his queer-acting brother meets a Negress from the Internet, and she transforms him into a wigger.
The nerds' grandmother is portrayed as a butch dyke who rides dirtbikes over sand dunes. The principal of the school is potrayed as a facist racist for making fun of the Mestizo Napoleon befriends. The Mestizo's cousins are gangmembers seen as good people. The blatantly Nordic children are made to look evil and selfish.
A blond girl rejects the Mestizo's invitation to the prom, and we're supposed to feel sorry for him until the White nerd girl accepts his offer. The Mestizo later wins the school Presidential election in front of a cheering all-White crowd against the wicked Aryan cheerleader, after Napoleon dances like a wigger to the Negro music given to him by his race-mixing brother's new black girlfriend.
The underlying message seems to be if you act queer, race-mix, and befriend minorities you'll be sucessful. If you're White and proud you will fail and be viewed as unpopular."

I get paid $11.84 right now so anything under $12 is underwhelming to say the least. So how can I negotiate a higher salary to something around $14+ I know repeating my skills that can help this company is one trick but how do I explain I an not doing that much IT work for 11.84 right now so I should be getting more at this new place.

EQ2 can push some serious polys, but the graphics options are numerous and sometimes confusing. Here's a guide that can seriously improve your graphics and gamplay at the same time by explaining what every setting does and what you should probably set it to.

Important: Make sure you read the 4th post down FIRST so as to know the best way to get a baseline from which to tweak from. Then go back to the first post and follow the guide. It can do wonders for you.
Also: AA is not enabled in EQ2 by default but if your card is set to render it seperate from the game, you may be already getting the performance hit but no benefit. This post shows you how to add one line to an INI file that will enable AA in EQ2.

Note: In the guide above it says that the bloom effect uses the same buffer that AA uses in video cards when activated. His suggestion is to use one or the other, however, I've got both activated and both bloom and AA appear to work fine with my ATI x800 XL.
