Off to get some alleged culture this evening at the theater. I have no idea what we're seeing but apparently if you watch plays you are smarter and more important than if you watch movies. Because it's live... and the special effects arent as good.

- MS gets a new CTO - Rain harvesting - Spyware Assassin gets killed - New radio format? - Will design games for food

Lastly, in reference to our recent FireFox numbers.. thanks for the math tip! :)

  • I've been having some strange hard drive trouble:

Got a 160gb seagate drive, and it's been working fine for a few weeks. But just recently, it started acting up - my computer would freeze out of nowhere while trying to access stuff from this drive, and then after some time it would unfreeze leaving like only my web browser open, but nothing on the page last viewed would open or load etc... just mouse movment and links would be highlighted when mouse-over...

Then, when starting up, it would freeze at the screen where you can enter BIOS setup. Sometimes it would say Checking NVRAM... and nvram would go from 0 to like 500000.. sometimes it would say no nvram found or something... then windows would finally load unusually slow only to lock up my computer at a random time.

I unplugged that hard drive for now, it's a slave, and my primary boot drive with windows works fine now, no lock ups...

Is this possibly some virus on that drive or more likely hardware damage? What the hell is NVRAM?
