This looks ugly to you people??? I'm not particularily fussy for the character designs shown in this video but I'd never call it ugly. It looks downright cool in motion...

EQ has always looked awful. I was expecting them to maybe, you know, hire an art director for EQ2, since the first one made so much cash. But ever since they released the first shots of EQ2, I've been laughing at everything I've seen.

It's a complete mystery to me how a game can make be so successful, and yet continue to look sooo bad. Oh well, I guess EQ fans still eat it up, regardless, so why get top art talent? *shrug*

As for asian MMO markets, I don't know if you can compare that directly with western ones.

From playing Lineage 2 and from having a few friends into ragnarok, FFXI and lineage 1, I understand the asian market will deal with forced game mechanics and heavy grinding much better than western ones, and tend to be a bit more "hardcore".

That and they have a ton more people than we do, somewhat skewing the total market share towards those games.

Just my observations tho.

Well it still looks like crap, but I will say that the animations look a lot better then I remember them looking. To bad they aren't attached to good looking art.
