It's a complete mystery to me how a game can make be so successful, and yet continue to look sooo bad. Oh well, I guess EQ fans still eat it up, regardless, so why get top art talent? *shrug*

From playing Lineage 2 and from having a few friends into ragnarok, FFXI and lineage 1, I understand the asian market will deal with forced game mechanics and heavy grinding much better than western ones, and tend to be a bit more "hardcore".
That and they have a ton more people than we do, somewhat skewing the total market share towards those games.
Just my observations tho.
