SHACKADVICE NEEDED: iPod Mini vs ???

I'm pretty close to breaking down and buying a new mp3 player to replace my ancient Creative Nomad II ( http://www.nomadworld.com/products/Nomad2/specs.asp ). So far iPod Mini looks like the overall winner. However, if anybody can recommend any similar players, I'd really appreciate it. Here are my requirements:

1) I'm going to be using this thing during workouts, so some jostling will occur. Should I be concerned about hard drives holding up to 5-mile runs? That's the biggest concern I have with purchasing an iPod Mini.

2) I want a player that weighs no more than my current Nomad II (<= 88 grams or 3.1 ounces, without batteries). iPod Mini weighs in at 0.78oz / 22.30gr.

3) FM Tuner is a very nice-to-have feature. Any kind of sports clip or waterproof casing that allows me to work out with it is a nice-to-have.

As always, your advice is mucho appreciated!

Does anyone have a motorola cellphone whos model number is: 92165xzxsb. If you do could you please tell me what it is called ? IE: V440 or M200 or whatever. Im trying to find a charger for this thing and google is not coming up with anything for 92165xzxsb.

I tried searching for "tmobile"+"92165xzxsb" or "motorola"+"92165xzxsb"

I even went to motorolas website and did a search for "92165" then "xzxsb" and did not find anything useful.

It is odd to me that phones and many other products are classified by the public "model number" vs its actual warehouse/from the manufacturer model number. Thank you all !

ATTN: BLOCKBUSTER MENZ.

I get a note in the mail from them today saying that we are late in turning in a videogame. Now I'm about 90% sure I turned this thing in, so I had Mrs. Phil and the kids scour the house and they swear up and down that they put it by our front door for me to drop off on my way to work about a week ago (which is exactly what I was thinking).

So I call them up assuming this note crossed in the mail and they say "It's still out. We don't show it as ever being checked in." Bloody hell!

So what are my options here? Any of you guys ever work at Blockbuster and can give me some tips on what to say to the manager to make this go away?

Lame WoW Question of the Day

Since I have a very weird sleep schedule (i go to bed around 4 am and school starts 2-4pm, work 8pm-2am) I bought WoW to kill some of the late night hours.

I know PvP revolves around levels and who gets the first hit in, but aside from that what class does well in PvP and is wanted in higher level groups? I guess I should say what classes are needed in higher end content since PvP seems pretty level. I'll be going PvP hoard.

HD Menz

I have a couple of questions.

1. Is it true the only place to get HD cords for the gamecube is straight from Nintendo?
2. Does anyone use a switch for multiple devices? The guy at gamestop had one for all consoles, plus a dvd player for $25 and said it was good, but I was hesitant to believe him.
3. Any recomendations for decently priced DVD players that can upconvert to 1080i?

I really appreciate any responses, I'm new to this HD stuff.

Quick tech help question...
I have a couple new Dell's sitting here that need some insurance/VPN/antivirus/firewall installed on them. They have like 120 gig SATAs too, but they're stuck with one giant partition. Does Dell have any free software to break those partitions up or can I just reformat with the backup CDs and have an option to do a couple smaller partitions and install Windows on a system partition? Or would I be better off buying PartitionMagic and making the partitions that way? I'm probably going to purchase Ghost so I don't have to worry about reinstalling this crap every time one of the secretaries screw something up, but I wanted to know if I could go a cheaper way.

Wow... Stargate SG-1 seems to be taking the Law & Order model where the characters are plug and play. Most of you SG-1 fans already know about Ben Browder (farscape) joining SG-1 full-time, as well as Claudia Black (also farscape, just to rub it into your puppet-fetish farscape fans) taking Tapping's place while she gives birth and rears her child for the first 5 eps on season 9. Most recently we learned that a new General (Beau Bridges) will take RDA's spot (he gets promoted to Don Davis' previously held "homeworld security" head) and that RDA is still in negotiations to randomly appear in a few eps (basically Glassner/Wright are on their hands and knees). Now we learn that the full-time replacement for Teryl Rothery killed in season 7's "Heroes", but only recently run in syndication hence the spoiler will be none other than Lexa Doig, made "famous" by Andromeda, JasonX, and other smaller stuff. Ironically she married Michael Shanks (SG-1's Daniel Jackson) after he guest-starred in season 1 of Andromeda as Lexa's android love interest. This, of course, after Lexa's now current husband Michael Shanks knocked up Vaitiare Bandera/"Shar'e", Daniel Jackson's tv show wife in SG-1. She had a fine nude scene in "Children of the Gods", the SG-1 pilot. It would appear SG-1 is becoming a home away from home for displaced Sci-Fi actors. Jolene Blalock (Enterprise's T'Pol) had a 1 or 2 show cameo in season 7, maybe her newfound unemployed status will draw her north to Vancouver. Scott Bakula please stay home, kind sir.

Wow... maybe I am a little too into SG-1. I don't dress up like a Horus guard or wear egyptian jewelry, so there's still hope.

My friend is telling me about EQ2's features and it almost sounds too hardcore.

He said that his group was in a major dungeon but they died, and there was a six-hour wait for it to open again! Six hours!

Not to mention you inhereit and experience debt if you die :(

He loves it though; he considers WoW more of a user-friendly MMO, which it probably is, since it's Blizzard and all.

But EQ2 just seems so...harsh. I've played a hell of a lot of games in my life, including some real tough bitches, but with a massive, I think I'd grow weary of a learning curve so steep. When you plan on playing a game for a couple hundred hours, you want to be frustrated as little as possible, and I think Blizzard understands this better than most studios.

Have they every made a bad game, anyway?

I still stand by a claim that one could make an awesome post-apocalyptic action movie soundtrack with just Fear Factory songs.

Or maybe it's that there needs to be a movie script made with some of their songs in mind. And not Uwe Bol. >:(

Some sort of cross between The Terminator, The Matrix, Equilibrium, (I've never seen more than a few mins of Blade Runner or Mad Max so I dunno if those fit here), and those Escape from LA/NY/whatever movies.

I don't get WoW's line of thinking on server load.

They added MORE servers now? Six more? Meanwhile their major servers still have queues?

Are they just crossing their fingers, hoping that people pack up and leave for less crowded patures? Why can't they add onto the hardware for the packed places? Is their infrastructure badly planned? Their code?

Is this too many questions? What do you think?

So the other night I posted looking for some good techno (for lack of an acceptable all-encompassing term) music reccomendations and the first reccomendation was DJ Tiesto, I promptly aquired In Search of Sunrise 1 from him and I absolutely loved it so my question is, what other artists would the shack reccomend in keeping with the same genre?

Hey no fair! When I installed the software that came in the box with my ATI TV Wonder Pro, it ran fine but when I UPDATE the software from the web now I get the lag effect!

The stupid program is doing post processing, I can tell. The video looks like it's been run through a Photoshop "sharpen" filter and that they're trying to squeeze detail out where it isn't. I'm going to try reinstalling the old version of the TV app but downgrading is rarely plain and almost never simple :(

I know nothing about cases. I need something with a 400 watt power supply that can house an amd 64 system with 6800gt or ati 800xl card and have proper cooling. I'd like said case to have 3 fans. I'm poking around negg and pricewatch but am open to suggestions based on experience and or word of mouth. Anyone?
