When beta testers proclaim their dislike for this title, Jason Hall is saying, "their impression is tainted by the lack of continuous storyline." In otherwords, they may be affected in a negative way by the fact that what they're doing doesn't have any impact on the Matrix Universe - yet.

I've also seen gamers thoughts based on 'a couple months back' and have to say that unless you've played the game in the past two weeks, you can't form a fair judgement on it.
So my thinking is, don't call it bad unless you've played the beta in last couple of weeks. Even though I don't work there, I still have been playing the game and it doesn't deserve the negative stigma. I think its quite a breath of fresh air from the current MMO standard and is trying to do something somewhat different.. which is what people have been screaming about lately regarding MMOs. It's not a revolution, but does enough to deviate it from the standard formula (fully interchangeable skills/roles, little to no loading times, etc).
I guess its one of those things that people will complain about lack of innovation, but when given a chance to play a MMO that deviates from the norm, they trash it because its 'different".
Also, look at the community on this game, it's amazing what people are doing with it.
