DOOM 3 Expansion In April
by Maarten Goldstein, Feb 09, 2005 7:20am PSTIn a departure from the usual "when it's done" comments until the gold announcement, id Software today confirmed that DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil will ship in the week of April 4. DOOM 3 for the Xbox will ship the same week.
Resurrection of Evil picks up two years following the events of the original in a once forgotten and remote UAC research facility on Mars. Players wage a brutal war against an army of new demons and zombies including Hell's own Hunters, while utilizing incredible new weapons like the physics defying "grabber" and the return of the classic double-barreled shotgun. Featuring new locations, puzzles and mysterious powers like the ability to slow time, Resurrection of Evil will have players reloading for the bloodiest battle yet

And I still have bad feelings about him for what he did to 3dFx.
Here's a thought for ya Johnny...you can claim that the reason your games are so blah is that this time you werent able to fully realize the potential because you 'needed the full spectrum only provided by 128-bit color.'
Oh, and nice rocket. Were you really gonna try to put someone in that fucking deathtrap?

Trouble is, once the ground's broken, the payoff is in inverse proportion to how many times you...do...the...same...thing.
The game could have been massively improved by introducing new tasks, as in Riddick, as well as through less linearity. id's standard formula was way too 1994 for me to care once the glamour of the game's visuals had worn off.

Sheesh, I'm seriously dumbfounded by some of you. It's just a game not Wagners Ring Cycle so why not enjoy it as such.

I loved DOOM 3 but it does occur to me - it is a polarizing game. You either love it or despise it. Kinda like George W. Bush in that way...
