The fucking long and short of this topic is that if you can\'t hang with ultra fast, in your face, balls to the wall deathmatch, then play what suits your pansy ass. Go play HL/TFC/CS/UT/KP/SIN/WOT or whatever the fuck gives you w00d. My personal preference is for the intense, visceral action that\'s embodied in all id Software games. I don\'t want plain jane gibbage. I want turbo splatterfest bloodrain gibbage. I want my opponents to know they\'ve been butt-fucked!! Quake games seperate the hardcore gamegods from the limpwristed, girlie-boy, CliffyB, gold medallion wearing wannabees.

Your point, or as I see it, is that people can and should play whatever pleases them. Then you go and bash people who play Quake/the Quake series just because you think it\'s not fun. That is your opinion. If they think that the Quake series is fun, let them play it. Just because you play something and then decide it is a bore after a while doesn\'t mean that everyone else must think that way.

Some day you\'ll realize that not everyone has the same defination of \"cool shit\". Your \"cool shit\" might be the most boring, tedious, annoying activity possible for me. And vice versa. I liked Quake the moment I played it, I liked Doom the second I played it, I liked Mechwarrior3 the instant i played it, I loved Panzer General the second I played it. Why the FUCK should i learn how to play HLDM ? I dismissed HLDM because I DIDNT LIKE THE WAY IT PLAYED. Is that so hard to comprehend ? I DON\'T WANT TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY GOOD HLDM, because I DON\'T LIKE THE FUCKING GAME. If I say i don\'t like some game and I think Quake is better, its because I DONT LIKE THAT GAME, and I ENJOY QUAKE MORE.

i like HL\'s singleplayer mode and its graphics, the hyping is not directly coming from VALVE but instead from THE PUBLIC
truthfully there are only from what i see 2 good mods out there
Counterstrike and Oz
AHL <---sucks to no end (original was better)
one that looks promising is FIREARMS but the public...has yet to see hard proof

Too bad the people that play half-life wouldn\'t know a good DM, good net code, or fun gameplay if it bite them in their \"we need team play\" asses. They also fail to realize that team play in TFC, and all public servers, is not teamplay, but just DM with flags.
