DOOM 3 Expansion Delay

Though id Software always swears by "when it's done", Activision has announced a delay for the DOOM 3 expansion pack Resurrection of Evil. Originally expected by the publisher in March, the add-on will now probably hit stores in April.

Don't care personally about the delay. More importantly, it seems that the once great id software is fast becoming just another software house with typical problems. Yes, Carmack is a technical genius but he seems to be bored by the gaming scene and nobody ever really replaced Romero at the company in thinking up new and innovative ways of gaming. Result. Watch for the inevitable decline of id, especially as other companies gain skill and come up with better ideas from fresher and more hungry game developers.
No, id won't be going away any time soon, but the writing's on the wall. Sell. Sell!

the 8 player multiplayer modes... just what the original doom 3 was missing. doh!

i wonder what happened to all the cool 3rd party mods and conversions that i thought would be out by now. it such a beautiful engine, i want my threewave ctf. i guess this pack will have ctf?

It's sad to see the low level of excitement for this...but I don't think there was ever really high expectations for any expansions packs. The ones for the original Quake were well recieved though. I actaully liked Team Arena for Q3. Didn't get my moneys worth of use out of it. But I enjoyed it.
