It's also great to know that they intend to change the way their engine handles mods - it's a real pain to create mods when you have to worry about lots of ini/cache files on the game dir.
It's far away, but it'll be a hell of an all-purpose engine - something HL2 and D3 couldn't be IMO, for different reasons.
