  • I'm taking a social research methods class, and it is the only non-lecture hall class I've taken at UB. There's about 30 people in the class, and at the end of our first session the instructor said "this happens with every class I have... the guys are all on the outside of the classroom and the girls are in the center." Everyone was looking around and all the guys were lining the outside of the desk setup. Its sort of a filled-in have circle setup, with the desks on the outside pointing toward the center-front of the room. He said to think about why this happens and he'll explain it the next class.

So I've thought about it a total of 2 minutes since then, and I think maybe it has something to do with the fact that men tend to be more of the quiet type, keeping to themselves, while women tend to socialize with each other more. It just filters out from that, perhaps? I'm thinking maybe this does influence it a bit, but the explaination wouldn't be something so easy.

But anyway, the real meaning of this post is to proclaim that 80% of the social research methods students are female early childhood education majors, and 60% of those are hot as hell! Great class!
