EA-ESPN Q&A

GameSpot has posted an interview with EA's marketing VP Frank Gibeau, asking him about the recently announced 15 year deal with ESPN. Gibeau mostly talks about the why's and how's, though there isn't a whole lot of info on what they have planned.

Madden for the last couple of years has been knocked for not having the same level of presentation as the ESPN 2k Series games. The 2005 game year showed the biggest gap between EA and Sega's presentation. I would expect Madden ESPN 2006 to have at least the ESPN graphics and tickers that give Madden a Sports Center type feel. I wouldnÃ¢Â€Â™t be surprised if that in the 2007 for next gen. consoles that Madden will have both a Monday Night Football style presentation as well as Sunday Night football. Each with their respective commentators. With the extra storage and memory capacity of these new systems this shouldnÃ¢Â€Â™t be a problem. Of course, this is all dependent on EA using the license the right way that is to be seen.

there isn't a lot planned because I am willing to bet that they dont plan on doing anything at all..they just bought up the competition so Sega and other couldn't gain a foothold in the market.
