There you go, we're finally efficient again. Yay!
Let's imagine for a second that I have a tower that can hold up to 5 HDDs, and that I would like to set up 1 RAID-0 of 2 drives for the system and programs, and 3 other drives as a RAID-0 for data.
The drives in question would be 2 Western Digital Raptors with 74 gigs and 3 Western Digital Caviars with 400 gigs each.
All of them, I believe, are Sata 150 drives... so that would mean I'd need a motherboard that has additional sata 150 connections and supports RAID-0, right?
Is it even possible to set up a desktop system like this, and if so, is there a motherboard (939) you would recommend... or do I misunderstand this whole Sata 150 business entirely?
Whats next shutting down Blockbuster video because anybody with a DVD burner and a copy of Xcopy or DVDshrink can copy a DVD?
What they don't realize is the person that pirates is not somebody that in all likelyhood was going to purchase the title in the first place -- someone at the MPAA needs to take Econ 101. As price goes down demand goes up. Everybody puts a different price on a product. They need to be going after those trying to profit over copies.
Do they honestly think they are losing a customer by the 14 year old male downloading You've got Mail or That Darn Cat off bittorrent?

Great game... but i felt it was too short. Just when it was getting GOOD and actually somewhat SCARY, they end it... should've continued with the last few levels and explained more stuff...
Seems like id just decided it was time to ship the game wether it was "finished" or not... oh well.

I love you all, but last night we watched Collateral. I had planned on insulting each and every one of you publically but then the post would be too big so I will individually shackmessage my insults to the entire Shack user list instead.
So terrible. The first entire hour is free of any annoying action, and the last hour is completely disbelieveable culminating in a totally "I saw that coming in the first 10 minutes of the movie" lame-ass ending. The credits just suddenly appear, and you are supposed to wonder what happens to the characters next, but instead I was thanking the lord in heaven that it was over. Worse than "Man on Fire" even, and that was pretty bad. Oh, and NOTHING blows up. Not a THING.
At least I don't have to watch any more bad movies for a while -- I cancelled netflix just now and demanded a refund, and peed all over my TV set so it no longer works.

We're getting new carpets, so I'd like to take advantage of the removal of the carpet to take the wires up from under it (they were there when we moved in) to move them to ceiling-level along the wall, but in a fairly hidden way. I'd do them along the wall, but maybe with a young child, that's not a very good idea. So, ceiling it is!
Anybody have any product suggestions or hints? I'd prefer as little work as possible, as I'm very lazy and unskilled with drills and the such.

I've got this shitty pair of headphones I use for listening to music at night with (speakers for the day, no noise at night). These things just fit over your ears, and when I press them down hard onto my ears I get a sound that is 100x better, a lot more bass, more immersion (right word?)
The tape that's on my head is starting to hurt, so I need a recommendation for some good headphone. I read Sennheiser is good? Around $100USD....

Favourite 16-bit console game soundtrack? Personally, Sonic 2 wins it, narrowly beating out Streets of Rage 2. So distinctive, creative and great - just another reason that game was Sonic Team's finest hour NiGHTS comes an extremely close second though. I nearly shit myself at how badass the Chemical Plant track sounds the first time I heard it on my friends TV and the medley at the end just caps it all off perfectly. Yes I am was a huge Sega nerd. :(
