Well we're pretty happy with the giveaway turnout this year. Big thanks to Activision in particular for being especially generous with you guys. They seem to understand that a little good will can go a long ways.

- Solar backpack - Man made island - Bionic dolphins are hot - Fines for selling violent games to kids - Charities online
Lastly, so the numbers are in.. and it appears that this new design has cut our hits to our webserver to roughly 1/4th of what they were, and the bandwidth usage to 1/2 of what it was. There you go, we're finally efficient again. Yay!

  • Hey shack, I have another hardware related question for you :-)

Let's imagine for a second that I have a tower that can hold up to 5 HDDs, and that I would like to set up 1 RAID-0 of 2 drives for the system and programs, and 3 other drives as a RAID-0 for data.

The drives in question would be 2 Western Digital Raptors with 74 gigs and 3 Western Digital Caviars with 400 gigs each.

All of them, I believe, are Sata 150 drives... so that would mean I'd need a motherboard that has additional sata 150 connections and supports RAID-0, right?

Is it even possible to set up a desktop system like this, and if so, is there a motherboard (939) you would recommend... or do I misunderstand this whole Sata 150 business entirely?
