Morning Sunshine!
by Alec Matias, Dec 15, 2004 5:34am PSTI think, without a doubt, my favorite part was with Roy Jones Jr. announcing the winner of the best driving game as the actual name of the category. "Pontiac GTO; Best Driving Game!" Thank god for that Funky Flex dude for saving his behind. Anywho, you guys should have Maarten and Steve back later in the day. It's tough running the Shack all by yourself; I feel bad for Maarten when he had to do LNC on top of all his other duties. update: still crying

I always wondered why they didn't have this already. Even the History Channel has their Military channel.

i've always been a fan of teh spacesim genre, with tiefighter & privateer being my fav titles -- freelancer could have been a classic :( -- but i must admit i always liked docking/undocking with capital ships to get into the action, such as in tiefighter you'd start directly under a stardestroyer. in freespace2 you simply jump in/out with subspace drives >:(.
still, freespace2 is impressive in complexity, gameplay, and graphics...even after all this time!

The Final Fantasy Orchestra is coming to Chicago on the 19th of Febuary at 8:00 PM over at the Rosemont Theater near O'Hare. It seemed like a few Shackers would like to go check it out, http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=9201481 , so I think it would be neat to make it a Shackmeet event. We could all meet for dinner before hand or for drinks after, and check out the show.
You can buy tickets here, and since they just went on sale theres plenty of good seats - http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=9201481
If you're interested let me know.

I'm playing what I think is the end of disc 2 (the battle against Edea) and boy am I getting my ass kicked? Anyone got any tips on getting rid of this broad?
Anyway, that's not why I'm really posting. I'm posting because I have fallen in love with this game. I had played to the end of disc one before, but couldn't be bothered to continue, I liked some aspects of it but just couldn't get into the combat, I found the game too odd and unintuitive to get going, I didn't get the "logic" behind the design. Furthermore I was new to consoles, and am now much more familiar with them. However, I've finally overcome that and can truly apreciate it now. This has got to be now one of my favorite games ever. Can't wait to borrow FFVII from my friend, which I hear is even awesomer. And I guess more significantly, can't wait till I've saved up enough to get a PSTwo, so I can have more of these awesome games!
Uhhh... yeah, that's all. Internet = alerted I guess :p

I'm trying to remember exactly where the "stream of commerce" argument comes from...the actual case, so I can quote it. Can't find it in my case law book...maybe I'm blind but I know I highlighted it earlier today. Little help?

Saw one today at an Ultimate Electronics store and I don't think I've ever seen such an awesome picture. Just wondered if it's worth the money. Can't stand plasma or lcd and that projection stuff looks funy sometimes in my eyes.

any of you own a Belkin iTrip? If so, how do you like it?
I've been thinking of getting one for my dad since he's just getting his first iPod for Christmas....
What other killer accessories/software can you recommend? (needs to be about $35 or so)

What are good 4-player, single screen games?
I've only got a SD 32" TV, so 4-player split can be a bit frustrating if there's too much going on.
So far I'm thinking:
1. Burnout 3 - Crash Party Mode
2. NFL2k5
3. NHL2k5
4. Halo2 (for a few rounds of Slayer at least)
5. PGR2 (ugh, hard to see!)
6. RSC2 (ugh, even harder to see!)
Add to my list please! (I'll go rent them tonight)

SCI FI Channel confirmed that Farscape star Ben Browder will join the cast of SCI FI's original series Stargate SG-1. Browder will join the cast in the show's upcoming ninth season; no information on Browder's role was available. Meanwhile, the show's producer, MGM, is still working on a deal to bring back SG-1 star Richard Dean Anderson (Gen. O'Neill) in some capacity.
