TechReport has an excellent in depth look at that SLI technology that is making a comeback in the form of some NVidia cards paired up and sucking power like crazy. Not quite perfectly stable yet. :(

Why the fuck would you want to revert back to the age old SLI technology. Not only is it unneccessary, but it is like working backwards. I'd understand if you were able to combine two sub-$200 budget cards to form one supercard, but come on. Shouldn't we focus on creating a single card that can equal the power of two high-end cards?

I mean, dual processor is dual processor, but it's on the same fucking motherboard.

Voodoo2 SLI was great since you could run games in 1024x768 which made quite a big difference back then.

These days I'm not so sure SLI is worth the money. Even the latest games run fantastically on previous-generation hardware, and new cards come out every 6 months. Just doesn't seem worth it unless you've got monster cash to spare and have fucked every hooker in your area to the point where they can't walk no more. ...Uh... Hi. Nice weather.

I like the idea of buying a card now, and then picking up the same card a couple years down the road as a cheap upgrade. Yes, I do only upgrade video cards every couple years.

The reviewers seemed to think that the cards and/or the mobo was overheating. No big deal; just need Delta EHEs on everything and you're good to go :)
