DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil Details
by Maarten Goldstein, Nov 19, 2004 12:32pm PSTGetting their info from the latest issue of Computer Gaming World, HomeLAN Fed has some new details on the Resurrection of Evil expansion pack for DOOM 3, which was annouced last month. Resurrection of Evil will ship with 11 new singleplayer levels, 3 new monsters, 3 new weapons and 4 new multiplayer maps. One new weapon is the previously mentioned double-barreled shotgun, another is a Half-Life 2 type gravity gun called the Grabber. The expansion pack will also see the return of the enviromental suit from the previous DOOM games. The CGW article (December issue) also includes several screenshots.

and ... a grabber? jesus, if you're gonna rip off a weapon from another game, at least make an effort to call it something that's not silly.

i love you id, but i'll restrict my craving to quake4, but since you gave that beloved property to raven, i can only hope it isn't delivered to us bruised, battered and unrecognizable.

LOL!! I think HL2 already had the nitch on this, and it would be a bad idea to make another gravity gun.

Vulgars - The same as Imps only faster and they do a lot more wall crawling.
Bruisers - Half mecahnical monsters with computer monitors for there mouth, they have a tendency to hide as wall monitors and then bust through the walls after you.
The Forgotten - Same as the Lost Souls in Classic Doom
Hell Hunters - Like Floating legless HellKnights, these monsters have the ability to warp time.
New Weapons/Items:
The Double Barrel Shotgun - Goes Boom.
The Grabber - Gravity Gun.
The Artifact - Allows the player to manipulate time by slowing the world down, also increases damage and makes you invincible.
Environment suits - They will have flashlights mounted on them.
New MultiPlayer Features:
Four new MP maps - Two are in Hell, one in the ancient civilization, then another base type map. It was also mentioned that the Maps will be considerably larger than DOOM 3's.

..spawns enemies in ways that the regular Doom 3 doesnt?
That was a major problem that I couldnt rid my mind off during the entire game so, Dear Developers, please take care of that little part and I'll buy it all again.
I predict at least three puzzles requiring use of the grabber, which could end up pretty well, a tool like that would come in natural in the Doom 3 enviroment for construction, etc (it'll probably be in an administrators office labelled "DO NOT TOUCH, PROTOTYPE")
